i don't think Jeff "Nipple Player" Winger is necessarily a reference to his own nipples

of course not, that's why Troy said "Nipple Player" instead of "nipple-play," and then played with Britta's nipples instead of miming playing with Jeff's, and oh wait

lol kudso (sic), Sunday, 20 March 2011 09:26 (fifteen years ago)

great britta episode, especially her delivery on the line:
"maybe we do...
may
be
we
do."

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 21 March 2011 19:30 (fifteen years ago)

This show is excellent at making me crush on whichever female character gets the most screen time in a particular week. Sometimes it's Annie, sometimes it's Britta, sometimes it's Shirley. Also? Man-crush on Troy always.

haha the R was a typo, i didn't actually think they said "nipple player" -- although agree to disagree about the meaning of the joke i guess

Britta has become my favorite character.

Britta has become my favorite character.

yeah britta is rad

r u levelled up? (Lamp), Monday, 21 March 2011 20:16 (fifteen years ago)

I still don't get the whole nipple thing - help me understand it - I must not of been listening correctly.

So Jeff had a nipple mp3 player or more likely he taped his nipples down when he exercised? And what could be embarrassing about playing with Britta's nipples?

amazing

I DIED, Monday, 21 March 2011 20:43 (fifteen years ago)

this ep made me feel uncomfortable tbh, i dunno

'white people problems' was pretty lol and the other troy/abed stuff technically great but as i say

jeff's hair pissed me off

BIG GERTRUDE aka the steindriver (history mayne), Monday, 21 March 2011 20:43 (fifteen years ago)

Dan Harmon got into a mini debate with someone on Twitter re: the tastelesness of making ethnic cleansing jokes

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 21 March 2011 20:44 (fifteen years ago)

I get it...but in the context of him playing Medal of Honor or whatever with Troy and Abed and them wooping it up with him over what a stone cold killer he was as a gamer, it was pretty funny
But I have no morals and am going to hell

VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 21 March 2011 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

the "debate" itself was kind of lol, it was basically one person saying "maybe that went too far" and Harmon asking "how so?" and the person replying by saying "by going too far" and no amount of requests for expansion or clarification could produce a single concrete example from the complainer as to what he/she was objecting to

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 21 March 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

like, I thought it was hilarious and I could have pointed out three things that were in questionable taste (playing a national genocide for laughs, the unseemly relish with which dude enjoyed killing other people, Troy and Abed translating those atrocities into gameplay without even blinking) so it was amazing to me that this person just wanted to make vague complaints and expected Harmon to be a mindreader

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 21 March 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

ok the My Dinner With Andre homage and Cougar Town jokes are totally upstaging the so-called Pulp Fiction episode

some dude, Friday, 25 March 2011 00:15 (fifteen years ago)

Amusingly, that was the entire point.

abed's whole cougar town monologue was incredible

symsymsym, Friday, 25 March 2011 04:22 (fifteen years ago)

I like the fact that there's a five minute stretch where, for all the knowingness I had about the DWA homage while watching, the show actually stops being a sitcom. That was kind of incredible.

Can't wait to watch it again.

Danny Pudi's opening monologue was delivered so damn well. He is amazing.

sous les paves, Friday, 25 March 2011 04:46 (fifteen years ago)

Watched this one late because I was away from the tv at 8. I love how it was advertised as one thing that was, in actuality, another. Danny Pudi is amazing.

zzp i don't know, i essentially agree that he's much better in small doses than as a main character, at least the way they've been using him for most of this season

WHAT MARKET PRICE

Damn did Danny Pudi really do the heavy lifting this ep. Playing Abed playing Andre.

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Saturday, 26 March 2011 02:18 (fifteen years ago)

Also, I did enjoy Chang doing the hiss entrance to both preview and completely tip his hand as to his function in the episode.

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Saturday, 26 March 2011 02:18 (fifteen years ago)

not sure how i feel about this ep, pudi was obv amazing and i love that they leaked the pulp fiction pics as a total misdirect but i kind of feel like the intentional inconsistency from episode to episode (in terms of tone, style, etc) is a double-edged sword

congratulations (n/a), Saturday, 26 March 2011 02:32 (fifteen years ago)

agreed, this show is much more versatile and surprising than a single-edged comedy

kris menace isn't even french (sic), Saturday, 26 March 2011 03:53 (fifteen years ago)

Annie said, "I bet Abed will say 'cool' at least five times!" And then, when they burst into the restaurant, Abed says "cool" FIVE TIMES. Brilliant.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Saturday, 26 March 2011 17:14 (fifteen years ago)

Chang doing the Willis reaction during the 'opening the briefcase' scene almost perfectly

Awesome ep...and Ive never seen My Dinner With Andre lol

VegemiteGrrl, Saturday, 26 March 2011 19:34 (fifteen years ago)

i didn't get it with the sweater, but soon as Abed started recounting the Cougartown story I did. He had Andre Gregory's delivery down.

yeah it's funny i just saw MDWA for the first time a few weeks ago and really loved it, but it took a couple minutes of staring at his outfit and listening to the way he was talking and going "wait...why is this familiar?" until it struck me.

Did not catch this: Richard Ayoade(from the IT Crowd and a thousand other things) directed this episode.

Oh that's awesome! Love Ayoade!

VegemiteGrrl, Sunday, 27 March 2011 19:55 (fifteen years ago)

the description of the show in that link is the first time i've ever been made aware of the fact that Community takes place in Colorado or really had any kind of awareness or thought of what state Greendale is int

no subliminal diss on Community intended by that last post btw. that was one of the best ever eps imo, paintball-level for definite.

Volvo Twilight (p-dog), Sunday, 27 March 2011 21:54 (fifteen years ago)

Danny Pudi is going to have a really nice reel after this show is over, and all of it will be from this show.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Sunday, 27 March 2011 21:54 (fifteen years ago)

I always thought Greendale was somewhere in California, but I guess someone would've mentioned the beach by now if that were the case.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 27 March 2011 22:06 (fifteen years ago)

really nice calling card for Richard Ayoade, too (xpost). Totally want to see Submarine now - had been put off a bit by the trailer which it makes it look like a bit of a Wes Anderson rip-off. I mean, I love Wes Anderson but i'm not interested in seeing a rip-off, seems pointless.

Volvo Twilight (p-dog), Sunday, 27 March 2011 22:18 (fifteen years ago)
