This show is excellent at making me crush on whichever female character gets the most screen time in a particular week. Sometimes it's Annie, sometimes it's Britta, sometimes it's Shirley. Also? Man-crush on Troy always.

Dan Harmon got into a mini debate with someone on Twitter re: the tastelesness of making ethnic cleansing jokes

I get it...but in the context of him playing Medal of Honor or whatever with Troy and Abed and them wooping it up with him over what a stone cold killer he was as a gamer, it was pretty funny
But I have no morals and am going to hell

the "debate" itself was kind of lol, it was basically one person saying "maybe that went too far" and Harmon asking "how so?" and the person replying by saying "by going too far" and no amount of requests for expansion or clarification could produce a single concrete example from the complainer as to what he/she was objecting to

like, I thought it was hilarious and I could have pointed out three things that were in questionable taste (playing a national genocide for laughs, the unseemly relish with which dude enjoyed killing other people, Troy and Abed translating those atrocities into gameplay without even blinking) so it was amazing to me that this person just wanted to make vague complaints and expected Harmon to be a mindreader

ok the My Dinner With Andre homage and Cougar Town jokes are totally upstaging the so-called Pulp Fiction episode

Amusingly, that was the entire point.

"The wardrobe lady gave me new pants."

abed's whole cougar town monologue was incredible

I like the fact that there's a five minute stretch where, for all the knowingness I had about the DWA homage while watching, the show actually stops being a sitcom. That was kind of incredible.

Can't wait to watch it again.

Danny Pudi's opening monologue was delivered so damn well. He is amazing.

Watched this one late because I was away from the tv at 8. I love how it was advertised as one thing that was, in actuality, another. Danny Pudi is amazing.

Died at "Cougar Town High School" tbqh.

I loved this episode so much. Danny Pudi was magic.

Damn did Danny Pudi really do the heavy lifting this ep. Playing Abed playing Andre.

Also, I did enjoy Chang doing the hiss entrance to both preview and completely tip his hand as to his function in the episode.

not sure how i feel about this ep, pudi was obv amazing and i love that they leaked the pulp fiction pics as a total misdirect but i kind of feel like the intentional inconsistency from episode to episode (in terms of tone, style, etc) is a double-edged sword

agreed, this show is much more versatile and surprising than a single-edged comedy

Annie said, "I bet Abed will say 'cool' at least five times!" And then, when they burst into the restaurant, Abed says "cool" FIVE TIMES. Brilliant.

yeah it's funny i just saw MDWA for the first time a few weeks ago and really loved it, but it took a couple minutes of staring at his outfit and listening to the way he was talking and going "wait...why is this familiar?" until it struck me.

really nice calling card for Richard Ayoade, too (xpost). Totally want to see Submarine now - had been put off a bit by the trailer which it makes it look like a bit of a Wes Anderson rip-off. I mean, I love Wes Anderson but i'm not interested in seeing a rip-off, seems pointless.
