I also spot Arsenal footballer Nicklas Bendtner flirting with a mystery woman. (Later he will disappear into a toilet cubicle with her — presumably to get to know each other — as the attendant turns a blind eye). The footballer, who earns £2.5million a year, recently split from his Danish fiance, Baroness Caroline Luel-Brockdorff, just a few weeks after she gave birth to their child. But any Gunners fans in there might be more surprised that he is not keeping a lower profile, for when I spot him it is just one day after he missed the golden goal opportunity that may have seen the club through to the Champions League. As the night wears on, the atmosphere at The Box grows tense and expectant. The performances are about to begin. A semi-naked American master of ceremonies, with bleached blond hair shaped into devil’s horns, leather waistcoat and bare tattooed torso, appears on stage flanked by topless dancers and sings into a microphone as the audience cheers.Introducing himself as ‘Raven O’, he announces that ‘here at The Box, anything goes’ — to the delight of the whooping crowd. And just in case anyone was in any doubt about what he means by that, he brazenly encourages everyone to ‘take medicine, do a line, let’s get ‘f****d up’.

Fittingly for a club devolving into vulnerable children down on their luck, I'm doing this charity gubbins on Saturday, running 10 laps around the Emirates Stadium for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint before the Sunderland game. Sponsor me, even if it's not much.
Give more and I'll let you come along and point and stare if you want.

Arsene having to turn back on the complete and brutal excommunication of Almunia that came with his being dropped has been disappointing, so hopefully he'll reassert it a bit by making him backup to the guy who's been retired for a year.

According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn nugget-peddlers Venky's are looking to add to the club's battery of strikers by signing Arsenal goal-turkey Nicklas Bendtner in the summer. Bendtner, who has had a curate's egg of a season, will cost £15m. Kaká is apparently also still on the menu.

Fulham today confirmed a commemorative statue of the late Michael Jackson is being erected at Craven Cottage at the behest of chairman Mohamed Al Fayed. Al Fayed, who was a close friend of Jackson, commissioned a statue in memory of the pop icon following his death in 2009. The Fulham chief originally planned to erect it outside his Harrods store, but following the sale of the Knightsbridge landmark, he decided it should be situated at Craven Cottage.
