automatic scroller

when you open a thread it will automatically start to scroll at about 2 lines per second, no way to stop the scrolling, no way to go back up

when you reach the end you will never be able to click on that thread ever again unless somebody else updates it

once a thread goes over a certain number of posts (like 1,000 e.g.), no one is able to make new posts anymore. instead, they must go back through the thread, find the post that most closely matches their sentiments, and c&p it. this could be combined with an incentive system where once your post is c&p'd 10 times, you lose a SB or something.

More poll forms would be fun. One that allowed you to rank the options from first to last, say, or just allowed you to tick multiple boxes, livejournal style.

I really, really, really would love to see this. It would make polls immeasurably more interesting and (imo) accurate.

I'm in fantasy land, but as long as polls exist, it would be nice if you had to post in the thread before voting.. so that it can known that you voted for the nirvana song because it's the only thing in the poll you recognize.

for the record, there are phones which are not iphones that still deal with websites poorly. mobile device interface is my savior.

the way i've seen this done on...... uh another site, is that if someone has paged you, there's a little (1) at the far right of the top links. (or (2) if two people have paged you). when you click on it, you're taken to your profile page. that page provides a snippet of each post that paged you, with a link to the thread it appears in.

AA, pro tip to rid yrself of the mobile version:

download the Atomic Web browser on yr iphone and in preferences set 'Identify Browser As' to 'Safari Desktop'.
