shoulda had his hat trick there

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:46 (fifteen years ago)

well well

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:48 (fifteen years ago)

totally deserved. Awful defending/keeping

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:49 (fifteen years ago)

i wonder how both games today would have turned out if the referee had sent players off for clear red cards like they should have.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

well we've been shit anyway and hutton's a liability.

The disallowed goal, tho

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

maybe defoe's just lost that much pace?

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 17:53 (fifteen years ago)

Had no idea he hadn't scored in the league this season til today

tbf this could be taken to mean anywhere between one and three red cards in the earlier game

deeznults (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:06 (fifteen years ago)

so annoyed at Gomes, really think he should be a lot less comfortable in his first choice status

deeznults (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:08 (fifteen years ago)

I feel like Mark Halsey's status as a complete fucking jackass has been neglected a bit in recent years

MPx4A, Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:08 (fifteen years ago)

1. United, nine games to go
2. Arsenal 3 behind, one game in hand
3. City 7 behind
4. Chelsea 12 behind, two in hand
5. Spurs 12 behind, one in hand

still not sure if there's a title race on, or who's in it

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:15 (fifteen years ago)

There is. Arsenal and Man U are in it. Everyone else is playing for third.

on... imo (onimo), Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:23 (fifteen years ago)

Wondering if Liverpool can get a wee run going and catch 4th/5th.

on... imo (onimo), Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

nah, they're eleven behind City, six behind Chelsea having played two more

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

If Chelsea win their 2 games in hand its 6 points, beat Man Utd at OT and it's 3 points.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 6 March 2011 18:32 (fifteen years ago)

still feel like citeh pose more likelihood of a utd challengin run-in than arsenal

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 19:18 (fifteen years ago)

Would have took a point at 4 o'clock, would've still took it at 5. Hutton not being sent off was a fucking disgrace.

Also Suarez is quite good.

Nulty By Nature (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 March 2011 20:02 (fifteen years ago)

for a bad game this is a pretty great game so far

― deeznults (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 6 March 2011 16:56 (3 hours ago) Bookmark Suggest Ban Permalink

sums it up I think

Nulty By Nature (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 March 2011 20:04 (fifteen years ago)

hutton was kept under a new ruling that allows the opposition manager to choose the punishment iirc

wolves, like most times i've seen them this year, were unlucky not to take more from that. maybe a bit slack in central midfield will ball retention

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 20:06 (fifteen years ago)

doesn't look quite as bad in that one. wouldn't thought shin guards wd save you from that but maybe carra's just /that/ hard

― el tuomboto (cozen), Sunday, March 6, 2011 5:38 PM (4 hours ago) Bookmark Suggest Ban Permalink

uh oh

The basic compulsory equipment of a player is:
- a jersey or shirt
- shorts - if thermal undershorts are worn, they are of the same main colour as the shorts
- stockings
- shinguards
- footwear

caek, Sunday, 6 March 2011 21:43 (fifteen years ago)

nani has high level energy in those shins: he clutches them whatever the foul.

utterfilth (whatever), Sunday, 6 March 2011 21:48 (fifteen years ago)

knew that, caek, my man. was just wondering if nani had weird low shin guards or if carra's studs tore right through an ordinary pair

el tuomboto (cozen), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:01 (fifteen years ago)

think carra went in over the ball *and* shinguards tbh - looked like he caught him almost on the knee

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:04 (fifteen years ago)

that was fantastic from suarez. just fantastic. the sort of thing we take from granted by messi but find spectacular when others do it.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:08 (fifteen years ago)

and lol nani assist.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:08 (fifteen years ago)

i have to say i like kuyt as a goalhanging striker, dunno why its taken this long to play him in what must be his natural position

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:09 (fifteen years ago)

If Kuyt had scored that first goal on my primary school playground, he'd have got a slap for being a goalsnatching bastard.

oppet, Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

rafa ffs

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

in his first season he played there and showed some promise, then he had a poorish second season there but tbf he has spoken a lot about having a lot of probs performing when his dad died around that time.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

lol the hobgoblin refused to speak

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:16 (fifteen years ago)

i really wish the league would just censor ferg, he's such a lord of the manor at this point.

otm

el tuomboto (cozen), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:24 (fifteen years ago)

hiyo, i know you knew coz. i was saying that if nani wasn't wearing shins then he should have got a yellow card, and the ref is in trouble for not checking equipment.

caek, Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:24 (fifteen years ago)

someone needs to tell gomes that goatees in 2011 are nagl

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:29 (fifteen years ago)

goatees are so awful

i sometimes am tempted to shave my beard into one for a laugh.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:32 (fifteen years ago)

i did that for charity last year. Ran a half mara bearded as rafa, cos my mates promised twenty quid extra if i did.

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:35 (fifteen years ago)

each, mind. They paid up too, fair play

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:36 (fifteen years ago)

Pav's goal was the best.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:37 (fifteen years ago)

might cut my hair into a "rooney" for a half mara, if i ever get over these fucking shin splints.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:38 (fifteen years ago)

deflected

Love how his first ouch is designed to go somewhere.

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:39 (fifteen years ago)

think carra went in over the ball *and* shinguards tbh - looked like he caught him almost on the knee

Yeah, very cuntish. And actually kind of pointless - Liverpool were already two-nil up and well in control, it's not as if Nani and Carragher were involved in some kind of grudge match, it's not as if Nani had just fouled someone (in fact, he'd just gifted Liverpool a goal, so Carragher should have been shaking him by the hand), it's not even as if he was in a dangerous position.

that was fantastic from suarez. just fantastic

Yep. That was good.

WAYNE ROONEY ELBOW STORM (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 March 2011 22:43 (fifteen years ago)

Carragh's challenge was def red card-worthy, can't believe the ref didn't apply the full letter of the law even tho he actually saw the incident, Fergie must be outraged at this omission

Nulty By Nature (Noodle Vague), Monday, 7 March 2011 01:01 (fifteen years ago)

I heard he reckons you have to take the rough with the smooth, the ref did well in difficult circumstances, and these things even themselves out over the course of the season.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 7 March 2011 07:30 (fifteen years ago)

Seriously though, why is the headline this morning 'Ferguson snubs media'? It was the same on Wednesday. It's not like not getting an interview is hardly the most important thing to say about United atm.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 7 March 2011 08:39 (fifteen years ago)

It's not like

Ismael Klata, Monday, 7 March 2011 08:41 (fifteen years ago)

thought he was contractually obligated to talk to Sky, the cunt.

my theory in the pub at the time was that Nani went to hospital rather than get his bollocks kicked in at half time, cos the play-acting little twat had been stood up for a minute before he decided that he was really hurt

Nulty By Nature (Noodle Vague), Monday, 7 March 2011 08:43 (fifteen years ago)

I know a guy who covers Chelsea for the local paper. I asked him if any hacks dared raise the notion that Ferguson was a bit of a hypocrite in the post-match conference on Tuesday after his comments regarding Clattenburg and Atkinson. He said that Ferguson hadn't turned up to a press conference at Stamford Bridge since 1999.

isn't house rubbish and Pete W mental (Pete W), Monday, 7 March 2011 10:02 (fifteen years ago)

Ridiculous pro-English bias from Sky yesterday showing the Carragher tackle for as little time as possible and relaying the Rafael one over and over again.

Matt DC, Monday, 7 March 2011 10:13 (fifteen years ago)

the rafael one that wasn't as bad, didn't make contact and was provoked itself by a pretty nasty foul?

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Monday, 7 March 2011 10:20 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, maxi's preceding challenge was naughtier. Rafael's was minimal more by look than judgement tho. neither of them was a patch on Carra's yellow.

Rooney was absolute dogshit btw
