Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Thursday, 3 March 2011 19:44 (fifteen years ago)

Right now would be a really good time for City to fall apart.

Matt DC, Thursday, 3 March 2011 20:16 (fifteen years ago)

Looking at the article, fairly sure Wee Eck thinks cyber-bullying is another word for email.

William Bloody Swygart, Friday, 4 March 2011 01:44 (fifteen years ago)

The Manchester City defender Kolo Touré failed a drugs test after taking a diet pill belonging to his wife, according to the Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger.

Wenger has spoken with the former Arsenal captain since news broke of his positive test for a specified substance. "He wants to control his weight because that's where he has some problems and he took the product of his wife," the Frenchman said, before quipping: "Never trust your wife! That is how he was caught."

nakhchivan, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:23 (fifteen years ago)

oh wenger, giving marital advice...

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 4 March 2011 15:24 (fifteen years ago)

always liked k touré, seems like a good sort

nakhchivan, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:28 (fifteen years ago)

and going by his recovery in form this season, wenger would have been better off dispatching gallas

nakhchivan, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:33 (fifteen years ago)

Not only is she giving him dodgy pills, I bet she keeps feeding him as well. Never trust your wife.

Matt DC, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

as ever tho, the miserly alsatian will have envisaged the prospect of shifting a 300lb 32yr old touré from a long term contract and he will have thought, 'no, that won't do, it would thusly be seen that i would have been better off getting rid of the pissy former stamford bridge man and therefore will have been counselled to do so, some will say'

nakhchivan, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

there is a third touré brother who was playing in the ukraine last time i checked

nakhchivan, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:36 (fifteen years ago)

It would never have happened under Wenger, who surely would never have given Toure anything worse than the occasional Werther's Original.

Matt DC, Friday, 4 March 2011 15:49 (fifteen years ago)

yes leaving Wenger at the altar for a woman was a mistake

Jlloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken (ken c), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:17 (fifteen years ago)

Hell hath no fury like an Alsatian scorned

Tom D (Tom D.), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

But now we know how to get a smile and quip out of Arsene, tell him one of his former player's career is potentially in ruins

Tom D (Tom D.), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:20 (fifteen years ago)

stephen ireland btw. Dude doesn't half burn bridges

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:29 (fifteen years ago)

Ireland should probably learn to STFU until such time as his career isn't rapidly going down the pan.

Matt DC, Friday, 4 March 2011 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

Ireland is said to have described Birmingham as a 'crap' city, and said he would rather shoot himself than live in Cork.

... and?

Tom D (Tom D.), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

I liked the way he said he preferred Los Angeles to Cork. A valid comparison i think you'll agree. He's claiming he was misquoted now anyway.

Number None, Friday, 4 March 2011 16:40 (fifteen years ago)

John Galliano style video needed

Tom D (Tom D.), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:41 (fifteen years ago)

all foreign managers rubbish
Trappatoni the most arrogant man he's ever met
Has better things to do than play for ireland
Economically, the country's reaping what it sowed
City are dull, mancini sacked everyone at the club and when he goes he'll take his 50 recruits with him

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 4 March 2011 16:47 (fifteen years ago)

the sheer mendacity and self-servingness of these overpaid twats is unbelievable

By 9pm, the incident was generating plenty of traffic on Twitter, a forum monitored by BBC Match of the Day staff.

this is what happens when you hire douglas hurd as a sub-editor

I see what this is (Local Garda), Saturday, 5 March 2011 11:56 (fifteen years ago)

am I the only one who still isn't clear whether Clattenburg or one of the assistants saw the incident, and why the fuck he apparently made a decision based on asking Rooney what happened?

Nulty By Nature (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 5 March 2011 11:57 (fifteen years ago)

stop this electrocution of wayne rooney at once.

The snood to be banned. I'm outraged!! Clear footballers originally from hot climates discrimination in effect. Still good to see FIFA taking a stand on the important issues in football.

Paulo Odd Futre (pandemic), Saturday, 5 March 2011 12:59 (fifteen years ago)

Now I see it is the International FA Board that is banning snoods. I am not aware of this organisation.

Paulo Odd Futre (pandemic), Saturday, 5 March 2011 13:01 (fifteen years ago)

Cantona was immense on football focus I thought, bedecked in Cosmos regalia - hope he does go and make Cosmos the biggest thing in the world now, so he can confound Lawro & Shearer on a weekly basis
