Pascal looked like a world champ. That's how great Froch was.
Fancy Froch vs Calzaghe?
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 7 December 2008 00:13 (seventeen years ago)
Not sure he's a big enough name yet for it to be an offer Calzaghe can't refuse. I'd say Kessler should be next for Froch - that gives him and Calzaghe a common opponent, and, if Froch can beat him well, it gives him a point to needle Joe with.
― William Bloody Swygart, Sunday, 7 December 2008 00:21 (seventeen years ago)
Can't see Joe going back down to Super Middle and I think Froch will want to stay there.
Froch and Kessler both look to have great chins, could be as good as the Froch vs Pascal fight.
Ring magazine has these five rated above Froch:

Just read through this thread for first time in a while - a few good calls (Calzaghe/Hopkins) and a few ridiculous ones "I think Roy Jones would take his (Calgazhe's) head off."
Strange that Khan being wrecked by Prescott didn't make the thread.

From an ABC story on De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao (TKO in 9th round):
Fighthype.com's score cards had Pacquiao winning, 80-72, throughout eight rounds. Compubox indicators also showed that Pacquiao landed 195 out of 333 power punches compared to de la Hoya's 51/164.
iow, 4:1 punches landed == not much of a fight. too bad. Oscar should retire now.

I think it's more depressing that he's reduced to hosting at the National Video Game Awards or whatever the fuck it was.

Just watched the Marquez fight on youtube. The accuracy in his punching for the two knock-downs was unbelievable.
Final round:

Khan vs Barrera is on. Listening on 5live. Barrera has a bad cut apparently so i dont think its gonna last long, khan on top.
― Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:19 (seventeen years ago)
It's all Khan, hes won every round apparently. Still it only takes one punch..

― Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:29 (seventeen years ago)
but he sounds as though he was hammering him anyway so it doesnt matter really. Khan haters (there's loads on 606) will still say how Barrera was past it etc

It doesnt matter if you dont have a chin if you dont get it
― Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:31 (seventeen years ago)
*Hit
Actually its gone to a technical decision on points
and khan wins all 4 completed rounds
― Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:32 (seventeen years ago)
Barrera couldn't see because of the cut. I still think Khan would have won it though.
Despite dominating the fight against an old blind man he still hung his chin out for the left hook again. He makes for excellent viewing but I maintain his chin will be his undoing. When Willie Limond is flooring you with hooks you know you've got problems.
― the innermost wee guy (onimo), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:49 (seventeen years ago)
2341: Don King is claiming that the "head butt" from Khan in the first round is what cost Barrera the fight. But even before that Khan had Barrera rattled. I still think Khan would have done the job, perhaps the fight would have gone on a bit later though. Oh and replays show that the "head butt" was an accidental clash of heads.

Sounds like Froch could be about to lose his title here. Well done British TV companies for supporting him btw.

OMG He's stopped him in the 12th. AWESOME.

So that sounds like a terrible fight that we didn't deserve to watch, eh?
lol Froch's post-bout interview demeanour best described as "confident".
― Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:42 (seventeen years ago)
or as Duke Mackenzie just put it, "delusional".
― Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:45 (seventeen years ago)
knowing nothing about boxing, the dude who was destined to win got cuffed in the last round. This was exciting as fuck to the novice. He knew he was going to lose on points so he went buck-wild.
― Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:48 (seventeen years ago)
I had to listen to it on the radio cos our TV stations are shit but it sounded a great fight.
― Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:55 (seventeen years ago)
This was really awesome boxing. I've never seen the guy who owned the whole bout get his face put in in the last round. This was amazing.
― Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:56 (seventeen years ago)
Well I really mean the opposite. The guy who got owned the whole bout put the other man's face in.
Irony is Sky will be all over Hatton taking a right pummelling next week.
