in a sense hm is right since the show seems to strive for human behavioral realism even tho things in the show's universe can be totally crazy (Harmon has talked about this a few times). he's just totally wrong here where the behavior is totally consistent to the character

Troy staring IS SO TOO funny

VegemiteGrrl, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

"Secret gardens with hidden trampolines? Fine. The school turning into zombies? Okay. Troy loving Levar Burton? No WAY would that happpen, he's a jock!"

no, no, the secret garden trampoline wasn't too funny. the zombie thing was aight. plausibility wise, i guess the main thing is the staring being unfunny, not so much the character consistency. but the events of the episodes don't have to interfere with that.

there were things i did like in the episode, even in troy's arc!

the britta-vs-jeff bit was funny as fuck. i just prefer people zinging each other to any crap about shirley learning to trust people/anything to do with chevy chase's 'issues'/actually addressing abed's character's sources in his upbringing

oh that's right, you're the nutjob that's constantly paranoid about this show getting too 'emo'

some dude, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 16:45 (fifteen years ago)

yeah crazy

the staring Troy gif posted up thread amused me more than it did in the episode

"more tuna for Kunte" was amazing

DJP, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 17:21 (fifteen years ago)

i was into this show at the beginning of this season and then suddenly stopped watching.

yea that elevated the episode over the line of awesomeness. feel sorry for all the people who DVRed it that may have had the ending cut off and didn't see it.

I'm debating starting to DVR Perfect Couples and Outsourced just to make sure I get to see the closing credit gags. I haven't seen a 30 Rock credit gag all season.

see if there's a setting to extend the recording by 5 mins...that's what I like to do just in case.

aight. guess it must be a 'funny for americans' thing, like john oliver.

god outsourced is so terrible. i can't even watch it. cringe cringe cringe.

was actually enjoying the new sitcom on cbs with american pie dude and scrubs/himym lady. and jack black wannabe guy who was on the failed fox show. plus, martin starr was on last night as the next door neighbor and i hope he becomes a semi-regular. (lizzy caplan apparently was on the pilot for this show.)

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

Eww Mad Love? Imo that show is like going to a strip club where strippers get dressed. It's How I Met Your Mother with no LOLs

angel of debt!!! monarch to the kingdom of the Fed... (San Te), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:46 (fifteen years ago)

how 2 1/2 men met your big bang theory

am0n, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:51 (fifteen years ago)

what's real funny is how much Jason Biggs looks and sounds like Josh Radnour these days.

angel of debt!!! monarch to the kingdom of the Fed... (San Te), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:53 (fifteen years ago)

oh no its pretty bad but it was watchable last night. but mostly it just made me wish that someone would give martin starr his own sitcom.

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:58 (fifteen years ago)

that jack black guy is really annoying.

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:58 (fifteen years ago)

and to be honest i never liked the scrubs woman. i didn't like anyone on scrubs.

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:59 (fifteen years ago)

Mad Love is like an exercise in how much more boring Mike & Molly could be if it was about pretty people

some dude, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 18:59 (fifteen years ago)

also Judy Greer seems to pick the worst sitcoms to be in....shame cuz I like her

angel of debt!!! monarch to the kingdom of the Fed... (San Te), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:00 (fifteen years ago)

i can't watch mike & molly. despite my long-time love for swoosie kurtz. the two main guys on mike & molly are almost completely unwatchable. the cop buddies.

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:00 (fifteen years ago)

I like Sarah Chalke fine, but I definitely don't want to see her on this show.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:01 (fifteen years ago)

I liked that Miss Guided show, which also had Chris Parnell.

and uh Arrested Development
and Archer if that counts as a sitcom

what I want to know is, who else is willing to admit that they find Perfect Couples funny

DJP, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:11 (fifteen years ago)

i've generally gotten at least a couple laughs out of each episode, although a lot of the time it falls kinda flat

some dude, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:13 (fifteen years ago)

Perfect Couples, last week, actually made me laugh a few times after swearing it off the week before. Also, Sarah Chalke on this Mad Love show made the similarities to a washed-out HIMYM 100% more obvious and I wonder what they were thinking in casting her!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:20 (fifteen years ago)

that jack black guy is really annoying.

That's why I didn't even bother with that new sitcom, that guy is just a total douchecanoe in everything he is in.

Darin, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:29 (fifteen years ago)

kinda surprised that cleveland show, simpsons and family guy all placed but not american dad

Mordy, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:30 (fifteen years ago)

kinda love that

some dude, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:38 (fifteen years ago)

I will take (very small) solace in the fact that Modern Family is now America's top comedy over that 2 1/2 Men shitshow.

need a sitcom starring cloris leachman, martha plimpton, will sasso, swoosie kurtz, and nicole sullivan. and martin starr.

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:44 (fifteen years ago)

i think it took me two years to realize that new adventures of old christine wasn't around anymore. guess i didn't miss it much!

Bob's burgers needs its own thread.

Bob's Burgers is tremendous.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:53 (fifteen years ago)

best thing about new adventures of old christine not being on - Julia Louise Dreyfuss is working on something with Sam Bain, Jesse Armstrong and Armando Ianucci (or so I read).

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Tuesday, 22 February 2011 19:54 (fifteen years ago)

I hadn't even heard of Bob's Burgers alone. Looks like it might be OK. The title made me picture some crappy Jim Belushi-type show.
