i don't think the filesize matters, it's all about dimensions i think.

it's kinda all done backwards (filesize should count foremost (ban anything over 1Mb??) and if it's too big dimensions size the software can always just stick a width and height tag in) but i didn't write the code :)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i think something like 800x600 is the limit.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

in fact the code already puts width and height tags in - it should be really easy to restrict the size that way but i dunno.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, that's how I'm understanding it, because my server isn't giving up the dimensions information and that's why I can't post photos half the time to ILX.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a great pic of Ally C up there

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

it is - everyone looked so neat actually at the wedding!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

The server doesn't hold the dimensions info as such, though, does it? Maybe your jpgs don't contain the right metadata.

it's kinda all done backwards (filesize should count foremost (ban anything over 1Mb??) and if it's too big dimensions size the software can always just stick a width and height tag in) but i didn't write the code :)

This sounds very sensible - it's the filesizes not the dimensions that have the greatest capacity to annoy, at least on dialup.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

God, my hair looks failry dreadful. It is now that length again. How appalling. MUST...GET...CUT...AARGH.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Plus, is my forehead usually THAT BIG?

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes it is, but your hair looks great and sexy that way. It's only your girlfriend that disagrees, and who cares what she thinks?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG looks like he has a (blurred) milk moustache in the ally c pic.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 16:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Doesn't RJG have a scanne for those drawings yet? :(

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

mike's looking very wooden...

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Paul Eater (eater), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

That's not Michael Jones, that's Ally C. I thought it was just his hair that needed cut?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I knew that of course, having met the estimable Mr C. I blame my fingers.

Paul Eater (eater), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

An Elton John joke would be inappropriate.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

My god, Andrew is a handsome man.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I love these threads!

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Jonesy, you have one of the few photos of me that I've ever liked from the wedding by the way, the one of me and RJG laughing.

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

An Elton John joke would be inappropriate.

*is annoyed with self for not catching the reference*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

This one? Again, probably too big but I'm not cropping The Baron out of it.

g--ff (gcannon), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

What's your shirt about, g--ff? Was that your college radio station?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

You're cute, g--ff.

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I like that pic a lot, g--ff. A lot of people think that a proper. beaming smile isn't their best look, but it always makes people look nice and attractive. You look great.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 17 August 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

aahhh thank you thank you! u too...

I wish I had a recent picture of me, not sure why.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus, Vicky is cuteness incarnate. My heart aches.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't resist, Chris and me, scrubbed up at the end of April

Your husband is still the spitting image of my younger brother. It's uncanny.

Smashing.

Dan I., Wednesday, 18 August 2004 03:29 (twenty-one years ago)

mike's post above is the photographic equivalent of his post to the 'how loud is your computer?' thread - technically accurate but utterly worthless 8)

my camera's been in my bag for the last 6 months and i think i've taken about 6 photos in that time (most were meant for mike's birthday but never got used). think the photos are down to about a pound each at the moment, given the cost of the camera and the number i've taken.

koogs (koogs), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 07:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Huh? I was hoping there'd be an amateur iridologist on the thread.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 07:55 (twenty-one years ago)

my own attempts at recreating that same Spiritualized cover are on the 'pooter at home. i didn't have the advantage of a tripod though so they are a bit blurry and had trouble with getting the right distance - too close and the camera blocks out too much of the light (and, well, you can't really use the flash...)
