Ruislip Lido is better

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 20 September 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Saltdean Lido shits on both of them.

Ed (dali), Saturday, 20 September 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Last night I saw the DV coming out of Lillies virtually hanging out of Andrea Roche. It was a sickening sight.

Lara (Lara), Saturday, 20 September 2003 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Hanging OUT of? The images are troubling.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 20 September 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio - is that you're head in the photograph of the Mimeo live review in the new issue of the Wire?

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 20 September 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I show Rosemary and Bjoerk at the Matmos/People Like Us/Donna Suummer show the other night, thus disproving my theory that they are one and the same.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

''Julio - is that you're head in the photograph of the Mimeo live review in the new issue of the Wire?''

!!!- I did go...I shall pick up the new -ish on monday.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 20 September 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

cinniblount, are you going to listen to the Vicki Bennett/Kenny G bound and gagged spectacular on WFMU on Wednesday? PLU was good live, though it was hard to catch the visual elements of the show.

Oh yeah, I saw Bjork, too.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 20 September 2003 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I bumped into Tracer on the street last night - he recognised me before I him, which I expect is down to my eyes. Not hugely coincidental, but it does say something about us, in that I was leaving the same party, heading for home, that Tracer was just heading to! (haha, buthe had already seen Toby and Anna at the railway station, so I outlasted those youngsters!)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 21 September 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Only because Toby lives on totally the other side of London to said party and we had to get the last train to prevent spending all of our life savings on a cab! Honest!

Full respect to Tracer for wondering around unknown bits of London without an A -Z (or any real idea where he was going... sorry TH.)

Anna (Anna), Sunday, 21 September 2003 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Brooklyn gives you a load of training for that.

suzy (suzy), Sunday, 21 September 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

queens is better for that though

Ed (dali), Sunday, 21 September 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

scunthorpe is better still

... (gareth), Sunday, 21 September 2003 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i just saw tracer but i guess it wasn't v.random

we both saw blade but blade isn't an ilxer it's a movie

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 21 September 2003 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

its impossible for dunedin ilxers to have randomly encounter each other since we all hang out.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 22 September 2003 02:29 (twenty-two years ago)

that's a great great movie.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 22 September 2003 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just watched Blade too! I enjoyed it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 22 September 2003 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw blade w/ jerry and mandee and cookie. I think I need an E sound w/ new spelling for the end of my name.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:04 (twenty-two years ago)

What, "RJG" isn't "ee"-y enough for ye?

Chris P (Chris P), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I ran into Chris Barrus at the Hollywood Amoeba Records a couple weeks ago. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:17 (twenty-two years ago)

you are right, chris, that works v. well, thank you.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:19 (twenty-two years ago)

It does happen! Noodles and I randomly ran into Sean C whilst record shopping a few weeks back.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:23 (twenty-two years ago)

They didn't even have the record I was looking for.
Though I was mildly disturbed that Rough Trade is selling cds that are nothing more then college radio set lists recorded as mix cds.
I think I told Sean to listen to CIUT on Monday nights from 11-1 if he wanted the same thing with 35% CANCON.
Its like I could have been making money all those years [not really].

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 22 September 2003 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Bumped into Dave B at Blackheath Station this morning, in an advanced state of ruin following Spurs glorious victory last night and feeling eversoslightly not with it.

Actually, this put me in a good mood to face the UTTER TRAIN MISERY that was my journey into work... I think I would have arrived homicidal otherwise, now I'm just mildly pissed off.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 25 September 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

It is Julio. I've decided. Chalk that up.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you all say hello when you see a Random Impromptu Ilxer? I think I would.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I said hello to Matt. He had not sighted me, so I suppose I was the sighter, not the sightee.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 25 September 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw Nickalicious last night driving down High Street, blasting the new Outkast from his fancy pickup truck.

Dale the Titled (cprek), Thursday, 25 September 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

ooh, apart from bumping into [name deleted] t'other day, about two months ago i saw the pinefox from the bus window looking for a cash machine on russell square and i was going to post it here then but i couldn't be arsed to find the thread, but i thought i'd mention it now anyway...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 25 September 2003 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

That might have been the awful day when I spent half an hour in simmering heat seeking a cashpoint that worked, and still ended up empty-handed.

I don't think I understand about the Vicar hanging out of the Andrea Roche person.

the pinefox, Thursday, 25 September 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Was the name deleted for a purpose or was there some other point to that?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 25 September 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave, I am happy to bump into you anytime in the Presidents Lounge and Kingsmeadow. Just say when and I'll be there :)

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 25 September 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I saw Stevem in West Ealing!!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 25 September 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark - I never go in the President's Lounge for I am slumming it with da people ;-)

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 25 September 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I saw Jel in West Ealing!!

(right after thinking 'i wonder if i'll see jel' whilst getting off the E8 bus)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 25 September 2003 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

When I saw Cprek last night, he was going to see our buddy Dave's band Gringo Starr. I wanted to go actually (Gringo Starr are very good), but alas I had a previously arranged date with a microphone and a hard drive that I was already late for.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 25 September 2003 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's Julio in the Wire.

alext (alext), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I still haven't seen this. and i forgot to ask mark s when i met him yesterday at duane fap.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

If only I had a scanner -- but sadly, you'll just have to wait to see! You're in the front row, wearing a blue (I think) top and jeans.

alext (alext), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:15 (twenty-two years ago)

does it show the girl I was trying to flirt with?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Ware lido owns this thread.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Really, there were girls there? Perhaps they air-brushed them out to make it look like a bunch of men watching another bunch of men with laptops ;-)

alext (alext), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:26 (twenty-two years ago)

;-) ;-) ;-)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

SE London ILX is suddenly everywhere. I've just spent a very pleasant afternoon in the company of the Pinefox and StevieT after walking into my local to watch the Spurs-Man City game to find them sitting there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 28 September 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Saw j0e this morning at about 9.20 outside East croydon station. I was in a bad humour due to being hungover and also having been charged 10 quid for a penalty fare. I explained that there were 2 windows open at London Bridge, and a queue that at the rate it was moving, would have made me about 1 hour late if I'd have waited. No dice. Bastards. I shall appeal. And win, oh yes.

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 6 October 2003 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Saw Tim last night; I'd been at the battle of Enfield (yay! Enfield Town won 4-0) and he'd been at barnet seeing Exeter win 2-3.

Two randoms in 2 days. I think this is a record. I was so hoping to see Matt DC this morning at my train station to lay down a record that would be hard to beat, but alas, the gods of pointless achievement were not shining upon me.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 07:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave, you see everyone!

I saw Ned Raggett last night in the pub that I was in. (or maybe it was someone who just really looked like him!!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I am the centre of the universe, obv. The panopticon of ILx. This thought pleases me.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Why was my name deleted from Carsmile's post? OH! Was it because it was in the Temple of Freemasonry and he didn't want to admit to the fact that he was there, too, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, trousers all rolled up and correct?

(This is actually true.)

(Apart from the trousers rolled up bit. Freemasons only do that occasionally. Just for kicks. Really. It's lost its masonic cache now that ghetto fabulous types do it too.)

kate (kate), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 08:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw Ned Raggett last night in the pub that I was in. (or maybe it was someone who just really looked like him!!)

My doppelganger! Or Kevin Shields.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)
