This day gets worse and worse.

Apparently the water soaked the carpet in one unit and proceeded to drip into the next, but did no damage to it. The unit with the soaked carpet is calling a carpet cleaner and mold-eradication company so insurance is involved. I do have some plant pot liners now however....

Oh, man.

Hi they are insane! How can you be worried about mold on the SAME DAY that a little water was spilled?? Put a fan on the spot and let it dry out, for god's sake.

Yeh, I know. I seriously don't think it was THAT much water! I put about 2 quarts in a huge pot. This is stressing me severely.

xpost - no. But we knew the floors leaked b/c a plumber busted a pipe once and it leaked down 4 floors doing serious $$$$ damage. Plus the spilled coffee above us, etc.

Getting insurance involved over 2qt. of water isn't being difficult? Remember you're talking to the Duke of Difficult here...

Mold is a problem when water SITS and stagnates and is never allowed or able to dry out. Mold is not a problem when some water gets on some boards and then dries overnight. And if the carpeted level that got "soaked" was so porous that it dripped right through into the NEXT floor, then it's porous enough to dry out overnight.

OMG, I've had such an incredible quantity of cookies and candy today! I just took a quick break from that to have a Coke Zero.

Laurel, I agree! I haven't seen what happened down there, so I don't know for sure, but considering the total quantity of water I put into the plant, I don't see how this is going to result in mold. But then I may be comparing to New Orleans.....

Hmm. Well, La Femme Partner might be in a state right now (guy partner is perfectly OK) but I guess not enough to not want to have a Xmas lunch day after tomorrow (1/2 day off!)

I just realized that I missed my Paxil 2 days in a row and am therefore feeling really creepy and persecuted anyway, even without 2 lawyer-tenants from downstairs barking at me and my boss, and the fact that I had to field calls from the condo board for the rest of the day.

It's probably my termination luncheon.

I went and say landlady and she told me about when she got an unexpected $2000 overdue gas bill in the mail a couple years ago. "I was behind on all my other bills and barely able to pay for the repairs on the boiler when this bill came, so I thought, I'll get my son's gun and put a bullet in my head. But then a few days later I got a refund check for an overpayment on my taxes! Can you imagine? What if I had put a bullet in my head and then the check had come the next day?" Then she laughed and laughed.

I AM CRAZY TODAY!!! ANd not the fun sugar brain crazy, but the OH MY GOD SO MUCH WORK crazy.

sarah, only 2 days of work left (half today, all tomorrow, half friday)

I've been moving all these heavy files, sweatin' up a storm, papers all over my desk... Then I got that email from my mom saying they want to charge her $500 more to change her ticket even though she didn't make the error. Then (and I realize this is petty) we got these super cute cookie tins at work full of goodies and I was so excited about taking the tins home to use for candy next year, like unnaturally excited, and I just heard someone in there talking about the tins. So I walk in the kitchen and my coworker is pouring all the candy out and taking the tins. And I say, "(sigh) I was going to take those!" She says, "You snooze you lose sister. My grandma wants them for her cookies and she's in her 80's, so..."

I hate everybody. She made it sound like I was greedy to steal from an old lady.

I thought it would be rude to pour out the candy! UGH
