WE R THRO TEH LOOKING GLASS PEOPLE !!!

jhøshea, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

In any case, it seems to deep-six my suspicion that they were going to go the Extras route with this, and have the second season be a whole turn-around where they're actually successful.

nabisco, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 16:56 (eighteen years ago)

I love Murray so much. I want to hug him.

funny, you want to hug him, but you want to punch him almost as much. That's the character. The hug/punch axis.

kenan, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

after rewatching the fruit vendor/ leggy blonde epipsode i have decided that it is the best episode. there is SO SO SO much going on there.

chaki, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

Damn, that's the only one I haven't seen yet! ^^^

ENBB, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

chaki is totally right. that was a fantastic episode.

molly mummenschanz, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

I've never wanted to punch Murray. Ever. Granted, I don't want him to be my band manager either.

I had completely forgotten them making the video for the robot song; I was working under the theory that the TV version of Flute of the Commodores the guys only had the one "rock the party" song.

Mel/Kristen Schaal is kind of really hot in the Arwen dress.

"Motheruckers" is a great song, worked so well in that episode. I loved the whole punchline to the "youre from New Zealand" bigotry when the dude realises it's actually Australians he hates.

I pissed myself laughing at that part!

Trayce, Thursday, 30 August 2007 01:01 (eighteen years ago)

Shit's disappearing from Youtube as fast as ppl can post it up, at this point. I can't be arsed with torrents, but I am going to buy it when it comes out on DVD for sure.

Trayce, Thursday, 30 August 2007 01:02 (eighteen years ago)

those jemaine + bongo player fights were gold.

sunny successor, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 14:43 (eighteen years ago)

The Footloose sequence had me and (especially) my wife in tears.

schwantz, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

the todd/mel connection on the street was a thing of creepy beauty

jergïns, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

ahahaha that was a great episode

dance sequences A++
breaking out the faux-anger dance sequence is srsly fun to do

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

was this the last episode of the season?

jergïns, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

demitri martin sooo not funny wtf get him away

jhøshea, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

Okay I changed my mind I do want to punch Murray now.

The finale broke my heart.

nickalicious, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

I love though when he's talking about adding Todd..."you'll be a real band now, like the Policemen".

nickalicious, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

OMG the angry dance, I think I bust something laughing.

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 September 2007 02:24 (eighteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

I just checked my DVR and apparently the long awaited series recap was last night/this morning. So happy.

James Redd and the Blecchs, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:30 (eighteen years ago)

I do not find them funny at all, but I also have not watched much.

roxymuzak, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

chaki can you ban her from this board too?

jergïns, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:33 (eighteen years ago)

lul u mad

roxymuzak, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:52 (eighteen years ago)

i watched a full episode and laughed a good bit but srsly the only difference between these guys and Tenacious D is that they murmur.

da croupier, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

Saw for first time last night -- not for me, I think. I would like to swear off now and remain rather fondly uninterested, but if I kept watching I think I could come to hate them, hate them all.

Laurel, Saturday, 22 September 2007 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

you guys hate the funk.

chaki, Sunday, 23 September 2007 00:14 (eighteen years ago)

James Redd and the Blecchs, Sunday, 23 September 2007 01:02 (eighteen years ago)

i still love this show!
there is a special place in my heart for funk, it's true, but also a special place alongside it for the millions of local funk bands in the world who i will never go see even if i have roommates or friends in these funk bands sorry guys

rrrobyn, Sunday, 23 September 2007 01:06 (eighteen years ago)

laurel you could never hate murray! not murray!

rrrobyn, Sunday, 23 September 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

I feel sorry for Murray :(

Trayce, Sunday, 23 September 2007 02:02 (eighteen years ago)

Well, it was only one episode, maybe I need to see the full range of their loveability?

Laurel, Sunday, 23 September 2007 03:08 (eighteen years ago)

WE ARE FROM THE YEAR 2000 ROBOTS WE KILL THE HUMANS WQITH ARE SMARTS!

FUUUUUCK YOU

latebloomer, Sunday, 23 September 2007 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

LOVE!

latebloomer, Sunday, 23 September 2007 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

I saw an episode on BBC4 the other day - not quite a patch on the Radio 2 series! Yet, anyway.

DavidM, Sunday, 23 September 2007 07:23 (eighteen years ago)

I need to stay away from alcohol. Forever. I feel so shitty right now.

Anyway...love this show. Watched all the episodes on demand about a week ago. It is basically "Tenacious Twee" but that works fine for me as i loved the original Tenacious D HBO show. I think FOTC have better songs, though.

Jermaine's my favorite of the two. He resembles my friend Justin (even sounds like him!), except skinny and from New Zealand.

Murray is just a great character.

latebloomer, Sunday, 23 September 2007 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

I do not find them funny at all, but I also have not watched much.

-- roxymuzak,

*cries* roxy, why you break-ah my heart? ;-)

also, theyre funny.

jhøshea, Sunday, 23 September 2007 12:45 (eighteen years ago)

Jemaine's David Bowie speaking voice is actually a note perfect James Mason.

James Redd and the Blecchs, Sunday, 23 September 2007 13:28 (eighteen years ago)

You know, that's true.

Michael White, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:07 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know why anybody would prefer the stage show to the TV program: I saw some of those on YouTube and it looks like THEY ARE LAUGHING AT THEIR OWN JOKES. Well smirking at least. A little too They Might Be Giants for me. Plus the acoustic guitars interfere with their dance moves.

James Redd and the Blecchs, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

what episode did you see, laurel?

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

(just curious, btw, i'm not going to try to convert you or anything)

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

laurel, the first ep i watched i felt the same way but it only took another to hook me in.

sunny successor, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

Oh wow I just saw Ep 1 of this and it's my new favourite programme.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

The one where a woman who works in a coffee shop tells one of the boys that she's shipping out to Iraq as a sniper in order to get him to sleep with her. And it comes out that their band manager has paid for like four boxes of sawdust instead of copies of their CD b/c he did a deal with someone "under the bridge". Etc.

Laurel, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

I just saw it too (hurray freeview) and yeah, it's pretty good.

The songs are easily the best bits, though. That and "I'm looking for an Australian", which was during a song anyway.
