So then Milan are going to pound you

Kinda resigned to this, hoping for damage limitation and then an inspired performance in the second leg. It's Spurs in the Champions League, something ridiculous has to happen by law.

So whats the problem?

Dunno, I kinda fancy the Arse to beat Barca and then slip up against someone else later on - leading to mass crying like big girls, small girls, allkindsagirls

Gukbe, Sunday, 13 February 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)

Daniel Sturridge scores. Sort of thing that could earn him a move to a club like Chelsea.

ailsa, Sunday, 13 February 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)

love these one-offs

acoleuthic, Sunday, 13 February 2011 17:28 (fifteen years ago)

acoleuthic, Sunday, 13 February 2011 19:44 (fifteen years ago)

hardman that can't pick a team to save his life. You're just ilx's bryan robson

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 13 February 2011 19:53 (fifteen years ago)

oh come on, almunia is the worst keeper in the league. he was offered for free to all clubs in europe and still no-one would take him. you'd get a buyer for green.

Jarv isn't good enough but really the worst of the worst?

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 13 February 2011 21:29 (fifteen years ago)

I mean you might be right, I just wanna think about it.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 13 February 2011 21:29 (fifteen years ago)

had my issues with jarvis but wanted ur thoughts tbh

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Sunday, 13 February 2011 21:31 (fifteen years ago)

Wouldn't put him in our team above Hunt and Hammill when they're available now, wd take any reasonable offer in the summer. Problem is he's not a great crosser of the ball, he's another of these "wide" midfielders who are happier cutting inside, makes him pretty limited but he's still got pace and if he'd had a better left back behind him in the Prem he might've looked better. Can't help but think there must be a worse left-sided mid in the division, just can't think who.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 13 February 2011 21:35 (fifteen years ago)

arshavin 75% of the time

RIP Fat Ronaldo, you had a hunger for football and provided us with a heavy diet of goals.

James Mitchell, Monday, 14 February 2011 09:20 (fifteen years ago)

rip fat ron, you were the best striker i've ever seen tbh

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Monday, 14 February 2011 10:00 (fifteen years ago)

Favourite memory was him lollygagging around the pitch in the '98 WC final. Ended up somewhere between the greatest striker of his generation and Brazil's Gazza.

James Mitchell, Monday, 14 February 2011 10:08 (fifteen years ago)

Might be related:

The veteran left-back Roberto Carlos may leave Brazilian football because Corinthians fans have been threatening his family.

The 37-year-old Roberto Carlos told the Lancenet website he has been receiving threatening phone calls and people have been following his car on motorcycles ever since the popular Brazilian club were eliminated from the Copa Libertadores last week.

The former Brazil and Real Madrid player said: "Things are getting out of hand." He added that he will move back to Europe if a club make him a good offer.

After Corinthians' elimination last week, fans threw rocks at the team's bus, damaged players' cars and painted the walls of the club's headquarters with protest messages, most against Roberto Carlos and the veteran striker Ronaldo.

James Mitchell, Monday, 14 February 2011 10:15 (fifteen years ago)

Heh:

Corinthians striker Ronaldo says fans who painted slogans at the training ground, including "Ronaldo is a shameless fatty", after a cup defeat to Deportes Tolima are "terrorists ... They want me to retire. I will not give them that pleasure."

James Mitchell, Monday, 14 February 2011 10:19 (fifteen years ago)

Do not agree with bullying players out of the game at all, obv, but "shameless fatty" = A+ zinging

"I didn't feel drained [by what happened at Liverpool] but of course you do feel wounded," Hodgson said. "I've had a very good spell in my career and it was a long while since I'd had a serious knockback in my career.

"It hasn't dented my belief or confidence but I can't lie and say it didn't hurt me or I didn't care. I've had an awful amount of praise and when you get the opposite it's not something you necessarily embrace."

Hodgson was appointed by the former owners of Liverpool, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, after guiding Fulham to the Europa League final and the club's highest finish in the Premier League. But the former Internazionale and Blackburn Rovers manager said he had not felt accepted during his short stay at Anfield and admitted to bitter disappointment over the manner of his departure.

"The people who wanted me at Liverpool didn't last too long. I think the new owners found themselves in a very difficult situation because we weren't winning enough games and the fans made it perfectly clear they wanted me gone and somebody else in," he said.

Every player has bad runs of form, Rooney's has lasted maybe ten months now. Prior to that he'd had the season of his career in terms of goalscoring at least which was just as well because for a striker at an attack-minded club blessed with lots of creative players, Rooney's goalscoring record is good but not especially great at less than a goal every two games.

that site is waste

rooney idk he is one of the best utility forwards around along with suarez and tevez
