real scramble there from corner
do sunderland usually struggle defending set pieces? i've only really seen them today and against stoke last week, and it seems to be a 'thing'?
― Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Saturday, 12 February 2011 18:41 (fifteen years ago)

― Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Saturday, 12 February 2011 18:48 (fifteen years ago)
The former Portsmouth and Hajduk Split man will be relieved. The goal is only his fourth in a calendar year that has seen the birth of his child Junichi and the sale of his failing ice sculpture boutique. Never fear though, as son of former Croatia boss Zlatko, Kranjcar will have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Dunno, thought it was okay. Auditioned last year and didn't get on, so we'll see. I'm not mad fussed tbh - it wd be a fun thing to do but a friend of mine is the instigator and I probly wouldn't've made the round trip to Madchester under my own steam.

― mizzell, Saturday, 12 February 2011 19:27 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, people have scored better overhead kicks, so what? It's a fucking brilliant goal and if literally anyone else scored it you'd be saying as much.
otm
ott churlishness on this thread over Rooney daring to score a good goal. Overhead kicks like that are always great to see, even if it is hateful greedy cave troll doing it.

They were debating the moment 78 minutes into the Manchester derby when Rooney cast aside a season of relative under-achievement and occasional animosity with a strike that had a fitting home in the self-styled "Theatre Of Dreams".

― itv digital manqué (nakhchivan), Saturday, 12 February 2011 23:10 (fifteen years ago)
I feel like that's a big result for Spurs, going to the side that's been definitely the best of the 'not big' clubs this season and coming back to win with a rubbish XI playing badly, and all with an eye on Europe. Should really have lost that one by any typical yardstick.
It's a bad set of second halves for Liverpool - own momentum blunted, would have preferred a Sunderland win or at least a draw there, and next opponents West Ham turn humiliation into heroics. I've just fixed up to take in the West Ham game yesterday, and am feeling much less sanguine all of a sudden. Had been hoping to see Carroll unleashed, but am now fearing what could go wrong.
