I wouldn't be surprised if soccer gets tape delayed in the US.

No tape delays on the East coast for European football matches afaik (at least on DirecTv). Not sure how it works in the Mountain time zone, though.

also wished they let oliver riff on liverpool, he can be hilarious on the bugle sports section.

Do people really leap to defend BNL? I have never experienced that. The Tragically Hip, sure.

Some BNL defenders are actually pretty vociferous (I've been screamed at at least once for talking smack about them). There's probably a reason or two why, but I hate that band so fucking much I refuse to ponder said reasons.

I wouldn't think that Tragically Hip defense would take up much time, as they seem so bland and unassuming that they wouldn't really even rise to the level of a minor annoyance.

No, but Canadian friends have told me they're massive stadium-fillers up there. In the US, maybe they could headline a 3000-seat theater. Maybe.

I think they did better than that in Buffalo and Detroit but, yeah, they probably wouldn't inspire passionate debates in Denver.

Plus, none of the Tragically Hip's songs inspired annoying singalongs in the U.S. the way that "One Week" and "If I Had $1000000" did.

The BNL thing was the same trick as the calzone joke on Parks, but with opposite roles between the group and the individual.

Well I missed a good chunk of the third act, but that was pretty awesome.

weird ep. i'm not sure if i liked it or not (tho it was chockfull of great moments i'm not sure it really came together) but good news i'm going to watch it half a dozen more times this weekend to help decide

I declared it a winner the first time I saw Troy in paralysis. If it had just one more scene of that (and it had like four), it would be the best of the season.

i think i expected more from the pierce-is-an-ass arc conclusion, tho maybe it's not over and they still have more to go

Seriously watching Troy break down into tears after singing a surprisingly great rendition of the Reading Rainbow theme song was by far the hardest I've laughed at a television show in ages. Overall the episode wasn't the best, but oh my god Levar Burton too. And the clips of Jeff freaking out. But, yeah, Troy was an all-star tonight.

The dialogue between Britta and Jeff was pure gold. Loved this ep and think they were just setting up more for later.
