was very bittersweet to hear the canned Phil Hartman intro to the Wayne's World sketch

I feel pathetic for genuinely liking the new wave song at the sports bar.

It was a pretty solid early Depeche homage, too bad the sketch around it was pretty flat.

between this and Portlandia i think Armisen is starting to show he's got a higher batting average than Samberg w/ comedic songs

I don't know who their music director is or how they came up with it, but a few years ago remember the episode where somebody's at an italian restaurant and taking acid and they look at their pasta and the meatballs are new wave dancing to some synth pop? It was Heaven 17's cover of Are Everything by the Buzzcocks. Who's idea was that and how can I get their job?

It was probably Armisen's idea.

It's Bleeker Bobs. They have everything mixed up by a loosely defined genre system. Like there's an industrial section and behind that is a Wax Trax section and behind that is a section called "Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV/Coil/Chris & Cosey" etc. He was probably in the UK punk section.

Bearing in mind Katy Perry is apparently best buds with Rihanna, did anyone pick up on Brand's weird gesture thing in the intro for the 2nd song? And at the very end he pulled a kind of groan face after thanking Chris Brown, followed by a mention of a cut finger and, looking right at Brown, said something about a little bit of blood..?

I noticed that hardly any cast members were mingling with Chris Brown and his band during the final credits -- they were all far off to the side.

Horrible episode.

I liked the time machine/George Washington sketch, which was probably the one time Brand's yelling was used to great effect.

I thought Weekend Update was especially solid this week, and the "British Movie" digital short was also pretty funny.

British Movie would have been funnier if they hadn't overplayed it. Those movies are ripe for mockery without making the "I can't understand what they are saying" over and over again.

This was better than it could've been. I feel like the audience was kind of stingy with laughs.

only watched half of it so far but not bad! Miley's not doing too much. Fred's puerto rican(dominican?) stand-up routine killed me.

I've never seen Hannah Montana but I enjoyed this episode a lot. I feel Paul Brittain is getting more awkward with each sketch he's in.
