Good old Liverpool.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)

sorry guys

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)

really wasn't expecting anything to happen, that'll do for me now

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:28 (fifteen years ago)

That was great.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

fuck yes! we out-Chelsea'd Chelsea by playing Like Mourinho era Chelsea

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:53 (fifteen years ago)

Another Chelsea collapse in form would be vv welcome right now.

Matt DC, Sunday, 6 February 2011 17:58 (fifteen years ago)

that and the spurs late winners drying up please

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:02 (fifteen years ago)

liverpool fans be gettin' greedy

acoleuthic, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:06 (fifteen years ago)

Pissed-up Scousers on 606 already. We can revive "won't win the Premiership" for next year's thread.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:10 (fifteen years ago)

that was excruciating and marvellous at the same time, not a good game, such a sweet result.

problem chimp (Porkpie), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:10 (fifteen years ago)

Totally sympathise with everything or nothing fandom btw, just that my peaks and troughs are necessarily lower.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:11 (fifteen years ago)

Terrible game really, but I guess I'm officially 'part of the problem' 'cos I don't give a fuck! Not too sure about carrying on with a back five against anyone other than Stoke mind. But hey Roy, I was never a fan, but ta v much for meireles. Chelsea so lacking in ideas was making me giggle, or that might have been the tension.
Caught up with MOTD and I'm positive Motson described VDV thusly "He scored that penalty implicity", how does one do that exactly? Nice to see Scholes' Henry impression not receive a word of admonishment, although tbf they had about 9 billion goals to fit in. I'd of settled for 6th before the season began and would still do so gladly.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:20 (fifteen years ago)

scholes has done that before

acoleuthic, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

In my considered opinion he should be banned for 6 months.

cozen, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:31 (fifteen years ago)

Relegation could still quite seriously be any 3 from the bottom 13.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:33 (fifteen years ago)

i love that 'real' table. Blimey Newcastle down is a dog fight, though I think WBA going down now, and Blackpool.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:33 (fifteen years ago)

Having said ooh not 2 mins ago that I'd settle for 6th I'm now debating whether I want Chelsea to win their 2 games with Man Utd so Utd don't win the league, or if I want Utd to win them both so we can catch Chelsea!!

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:36 (fifteen years ago)

City might win the league and remove that dilemma for you.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:37 (fifteen years ago)

C'mon, I'd still back United to win by 6 points. Losing this "shit Invincibles" tag might be a positive tbh.

Y Kant Torres Red (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:38 (fifteen years ago)

I thought the unconvincibles was the accepted nomenclature

cozen, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:39 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah I think City are the main challengers. I just can't take Arsenal seriously for some reason. Well for lots of reasons tbh. But having said for most of the season that I haven't been all that impressed with Man U, they are still the most impressive of the top teams by far, and the least flakiest.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:41 (fifteen years ago)

The team that nobody can convince? (xp)

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:42 (fifteen years ago)

Utd got City next yeah? OT or Temple of Doom?

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:42 (fifteen years ago)

OT. Was a tedious 0-0 at Eastlands in the autumn.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:44 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah knew they'd played this season obvs but couldn't recall a single detail about the game incl where it was played.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:46 (fifteen years ago)

Its location was the only detail worth remembering.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:46 (fifteen years ago)

didn't catch the game, how did torres look?

cozen, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:49 (fifteen years ago)

He ran about but hardly touched the ball, sent one effort high and wide and one blocked by Carragher and got subbed off after about 65 mins. If you saw him play any of LFC's games under Hodgson, barring the Chelsea game, then that's what he did today and got about the same level of service tbf.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:52 (fifteen years ago)

Chelsea playing 4-3-3 with a still-below-par Lampard and two defensive midfielders is leaving them pretty lacking in the creativity and width department.

Matt DC, Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:55 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah today they played right into our hands. I mean if you set up like we do then it's a gift when all the play from the opposition comes straight down the middle.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:56 (fifteen years ago)

so did we ever get around to turning music-obsessive Leighton Baines onto uuuuuuh Larry Levan, or whatever we proposed?

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 6 February 2011 19:09 (fifteen years ago)

Sweet

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 February 2011 19:16 (fifteen years ago)

Couple of rumours on twitter that Rosicknote and the refereee being investigated over possible betting irregularities yesterday...

ailsa, Sunday, 6 February 2011 19:59 (fifteen years ago)

Irregularities? In a game with absurd ref-ing? No way.

if there is a King Moaty, apparently he is huge into slapstick. (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 6 February 2011 20:03 (fifteen years ago)

Dunno what Rosicknote has to do with it, his yellow was one of the few things that was otm iirc

Rosicky has one of the Merse's problems, but not that one.

Apparently the Merse has very recently fallen off the wagon, too.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 6 February 2011 21:14 (fifteen years ago)

loving how happy kenny looks in the interviews today, so good to see.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 February 2011 23:33 (fifteen years ago)

btw lots of rubbish about meireles around with regard to hodgson signing him etc. i've read plenty of times that he had been lined up way before roy's reign of terror.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Sunday, 6 February 2011 23:40 (fifteen years ago)

I'm hearing Denilson was down William Hill with a big sack of used fivers on Saturday morning.

James Mitchell, Monday, 7 February 2011 08:36 (fifteen years ago)

Classic Chelsea buzzkill. Tactically abysmal from Ancelotti, it was obvious as soon as he named the team what would happen and he NEVER has the balls to change things when they're going wrong.

Still, 'Fuck your history, you burn your own shirts' made me laugh (although so did, 'You should have joined a big club' to be fair).

isn't house rubbish and Pete W mental (Pete W), Monday, 7 February 2011 09:14 (fifteen years ago)

Seeing Dalglish in the dugout reminded me of one of the greatest performances I've ever seen by an away team at the Bridge, 5-2 Liverpool win in 1989. Ray Houghton was outstanding, first time I saw what a real player can do with movement and space and talented teammates. That Liverpool team was one of the three best I've ever seen.

Jonathan Pierce describing Scholes handball as 'rascally' annoyed me more than anything else this weekend

not lazy but clowning (Suedey 2), Monday, 7 February 2011 09:38 (fifteen years ago)

why did it annoy you? because 'rascally' isn't a real word? because it was trivializing what you regarded as a serious bit of cheating? or something else?

Grandpont Genie, Monday, 7 February 2011 09:57 (fifteen years ago)

Thierry Henri was rascally imho.

James Mitchell, Monday, 7 February 2011 10:03 (fifteen years ago)

So when to make a 'new shevchenko' thread? too soon, right?

if there is a King Moaty, apparently he is huge into slapstick. (a hoy hoy), Monday, 7 February 2011 12:10 (fifteen years ago)

so not gonna happen

s'just the way with the national treasure that is Scholesy, isn't it? Like every time he comes a couple of inches from snapping someone's leg we get a chortle and for a few seconds aggressive clumsiness becomes a virtue.

The fact he kept sticking him on the wing suggests as much an' all.
