I SBed whiney for real after that awful ILM thread he started recently abt indie-latepass-whatever — figured it probly wouldn't amount to much, but on the off chance that 50 other ppl on this board had gotten as fed-up with him as I was at that moment, I wasn't really gonna lose any sleep over it

it's kind of a truism on here that uh, generalists, shall we say, catch onto acts the album after the album genre dudes go gooey eyed for, and commonly overpraise said album. i;ve heard this put forward countless times, but because whiney said "indie dudes" and not p4k, stereogum, paste or whatever, ppl caught feelings, somewhat hilariously imo.

yeah exactly, it's a truism — i.e. a thing that EVERYONE KNOWS and thus something that is NOT VERY INTERESTING TO TALK ABOUT. it seemed like a thread whose sole purpose was to stir shit up, and even if that's not the case, doesn't it maybe say something about Whiney that his default snarky outlook is often indistinguishable from deliberate trolling?

Nope. For two main reasons. First of all, as I explained before, I didn't want Whiney to be banned. He definitely can bring something worthwhile to the table when he's not deliberately trying to push buttons or get attention for himself and I hoped (rather stupidly, as it turns out) that maybe if more people actually called him out for it rather than silently hitting 'suggest ban', he might possibly tone down his antics. But, obviously, that was wrong of me to think, because its pretty apparent by the twitter feed he started just after his banning, that he feeds off this kind of negative attention. The other reason I didn't click it - he's been banned before and that didn't do a single thing to change his attitude.

Banned have two responses

1) Barstards, you banned me
or
2) lol they can't handle the TRUTH!!!
