That's pretty cool. How much?

No subzero run this morning. I think I would have been warm enough but I have the hardest time getting out of bed when it is cold. It just never makes logical sense.

Jeff, Thursday, 3 February 2011 13:30 (fifteen years ago)

want a garmin now badly.

ran a v quick 6 miles tonight, about 50 mins or so. my first run in a week after being a bit injured last week. the inside of my calves hurts a bit still, kinda feel like it won't go away, but it's tolerable. i guess i'll just run as and when, i don't feel like they'll heal totally anyway. would muscle training help in any way? feel like when i go on long runs as my legs tire my gait becomes looser and more likely to make me injured.

feel lately, and this may be a placebo, if i buy an energy drink or even just water about 3/4 of the way through my run, i get a major second wind and am flying for the last few miles.

do any of the running watches have barometric altimetry? when i compare the barometric figures from my edge 500 (i use the watchband adaptor for running) against the imported figures on garminconnect, the barometric numbers are waay more reliable. especially things like mtn trail runs.

'elevation correction' (see bottom left of repost i posted) seems to be garmins attempt at addressing elevation discrepancies - not sure how it works

ice cr?m, Thursday, 3 February 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

I see what this is (Local Garda), Thursday, 3 February 2011 20:56 (fifteen years ago)

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:05 (fifteen years ago)

Are you going to die? Who's going to answer all the questions on the Ask ilxor thread if that happens?

Jeff, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:07 (fifteen years ago)

last thing you want is to end up pregnant after 33 miles

x-post

I see what this is (Local Garda), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:07 (fifteen years ago)

10 would be impressive. What was your marathon PR again?

Jeff, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:08 (fifteen years ago)

looooool Local Garda

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:09 (fifteen years ago)

i've run marathon distance in training in 4:30-4:45 (actual paid race PR is 5:10, i'm fitter now) -- general rule is to double yr marathon time, then add two hours, so that puts me somewhere between 11:00 (using the 4:30 time) and 12:20 (using 5:10)

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:10 (fifteen years ago)

last year dominic grossman of california finished in 6:26:05 - you should try to top that

ice cr?m, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

I think if I tried, my rule of thumb would be to quadruple my marathon time. What's the course time limit?

Jeff, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:13 (fifteen years ago)

the top 100-milers should be finishing around 13 hours; my goal is to beat them

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:13 (fifteen years ago)

time limit 29 hours, aka, i can walk that shit in if needed

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:13 (fifteen years ago)

ooooh boy, just got the weather report from the race site

One to four inches of snow are predicted for today and
tomorrow with a low of 24 degrees F. on Sat. morning. Sleet is predicted for
Houston area a little farther south. A/O 11:45 AM Central Time there is no
precip falling yet today. Good luck to anyone who's flying or driving down
here!

Damn this thread seems so....different without ilxor (ilxor), Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:17 (fifteen years ago)

34 minute miles!!! That's a slow ass walk.

Jeff, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:18 (fifteen years ago)

i'd trade out 1/2 of bandaids for moleskin patches, if bodyglide should fail?

man with that weather you might wanna bring a spaceblanket

ice cr?m, Thursday, 3 February 2011 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

end aggro business now (Hunt3r), Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:00 (fifteen years ago)

end aggro business now (Hunt3r), Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:00 (fifteen years ago)

ice cr?m, Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:06 (fifteen years ago)

make sure you don't poop out at all if you can help it

smanghetti bollocknaked (cozen), Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:09 (fifteen years ago)

oh shit

end aggro business now (Hunt3r), Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:37 (fifteen years ago)

missed your question-- i've not used microspikes, but recommend yaktrax pro for mixed conditions. very light and unobtrusive.

ilxor, go out and kill that thing tomorrow and have a great time.

end aggro business now (Hunt3r), Friday, 4 February 2011 18:20 (fifteen years ago)
