guys i had another hilarious esl moment today in class

we were going over the final exam practice test and one student asked a question, and then another wanted to ask the same question. they talked at the same time and the second one said, "i didn't know if we should eee ass"

me: i'm sorry?

him: we should eat ass?

you know, if we should ass the same question.

laughter ensued.

what disturbs me is that my students don't know how to enunciate well enough to pronounce "each" or "ask"?!?!?! woe is me.

also i got an email recently that read "sorry teacher, i am seek"
that one was pretty cute, though.

I use that form, but I don't know why.

yeah, i think it's mainly in formal writing, like contracts, to clarify numbers.

yeah i'm pretty sure i'm not coming down tonight for stella, i need a weekend to chill and clean my apartment, maybe play percussion on a friend's gig tonight.

sarah is saying we should be crazy social and go to the party we were invited to tomorrow AND karaoke, we'll see if that actually happens
