and yet caring abt people thinking someone is one of the funniest 15 characters on a tv show seems oddly FETISHISTIC

I am totally o_O at people who didn't like this episode. I don't think I've spent a solid half hour laughing as much as I did here. DeNiro's accent was horrible and not funny but completely redeemed by reading the disaster list. So much to laugh at, I really think you should just give up on TV comedy 100% if you hated this episode. It was so frantic and OTT, but man, if you don't like that in 30 Rock you are probably watching a show that isn't for you anyway.

OTM. This was wall-to-wall laffs. This is probably among the ten episodes I would show someone to convince them of 30 Rock's greatness.

i thought it was a mid-level season 5 episode tbh, i.e. an entry level episode overall

the pretaped disaster benefit concept was pretty reminiscent of the SNL sketch with Dana Carvey as Tom Brokaw pretaping all the potential presidential death scenarios

Belzer and Ice-T was incredible

I can tell that, in a lot of ways, this wasn't a great episode. It recycled old gags (Kenneth is nice and Jack can't handle it, Tracy/Jenna competition) and not to any great effect. And yet, I still laughed like a hyena. I wonder if this show has moved beyond any advanced critical faculties I have.

or maybe I just love it every time Brian Williams shows up.
