Sign Suarez and here's a potentially excellent attacking unit there waiting to be unleashed, but buggered if I know what the exact configuration of it should be. Not some horrible diamond shape where Meireles/Gerrard = Gerrard/Lampard, which is the first thing that springs to mind.

The defensive unit, not so much - they were extremely ropey for several spells today, and it's not like Wolves were playing particularly well or anything.

Presuming they get Suarez, wouldn't mind this

i said i don't want gerrard back in the team just yet. however people here blatantly hate him and seek to deny he has done a lot for the club and is influential there as a result, it's nothing to do with making a point, it's just default mode whenever his name is mentioned, and anyone knows that anyway so it's barely worth my while pointing it out.

Back to West Ham.

They were good if profligate when counterattacking today, but you've got to be able to defend to play that way and better teams than Wolves on a mediocre day will tear that defence to bits. Obviously Reina's great but what about everyone else? Is Agger actually any good? He's got charisma and he moves forward elegantly, but he's pretty much always been third-choice at best. Skrtel? Aurelio's good enough but Johnson in defence scares me.

Agger's only 26 and is our best 'footballing' centre back. Would definitely keep him, perhaps alongside Carragher.

Kelly's looking promising as well btw.
