In LA in January, I sawe this Burger King ad repeatedly:

I remember thinking, 'Thank God - they have ads as bad as back home in Australia'. It was almost a relief.

Sadly, I don't think the video will load, although the analysis at the link pretty much describes the whole horrible thing. Stand out phrase: "I will eat / This meat" (To Helen Reddy's 'I am Woman', at the point where the lyrics go, 'I am strong / I am invincible').

There's so much stereotyping in this ad, it is almost impossible to keep up with it.

(srsly this ad - the 15 minute infomercial I sat through while watching British Eurosport at half midnight last night - suggested that, if your pet or child pees on your countertops you don't wipe it up, you just spray it with Urine Gone. Piss on your walls? Just spray and it's neutralised!)

webuyanycar is also one of a growing number of commercials where the advertising executives used the fact that it's a World Cup year to shoehorn in a football reference - in webuyanycar's case, the fake newsreader starts playing keepy-up for no reason, and is then joined by loads of other people doing the same.

I had a sneaking fondness for an old Ocean Finance one (not the new ones with the people with light bulbs strapped to their heads, which I find vaguely disturbing); it was a vox-pop one where a woman said, 'I like Ocean Finance, they don't try and babble you with science.'

I assume these were genuine vox pops on this occasion, as the thought of a scriptwriter coming up with that is almost as disturbing as the light bulbs.
