I guess they're probably outlawing it on the premise that someone could somehow overdose on folic acid, but considering all of the legitimately unhealthy food out there this seems pretty stupid.

surely it's more um natural to get one's folic acid from yeast/brewing by-product than a tablet though? am i mising something about folic acid here? it's a good thing right? or do they giv eit to pregnant ladies cos they hate them? look, now i'm going to have to google "sources of folic acid" to find out WHAT ELSE those crazy septics are going to ban...

A little vegemite in a roast beef gravy is a *great* flavour boost, akin to adding worcestreshire sauce. Goes nice similarly in soups too.

channel ten was reporting it as well today, including the doubt over the veracity of the rumour. they said it was definitely true but people could still bring it in to the US because customs have never been required to search bags for it. who knows how credible channel ten is though. i don't care too much because there is no ban here!

i'd say the trick for beginners is to lightly grill some toast, but lots of butter on and then a just a little bit of marmite. before long you'll be slathering it on. (toast, that is)
