Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 January 2011 13:25 (fifteen years ago)

what's your point?

The referee was perfect (Chris), Thursday, 20 January 2011 13:26 (fifteen years ago)

minor update on yr last line is all

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 January 2011 13:28 (fifteen years ago)

John Carew to Stoke is one of those transfers that manages to feel both inevitable and inspired at the same time.

Matt DC, Friday, 21 January 2011 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

and getting rid of tuncay 'tunny' sanli, ricardo 'rick' fuller and eidur 'guddy' gudjohnsen at the same time, a cull of any idelogically unsound elements

leaving the villa martin o'neill created in his own image to go to stoke is crossing the lethe from bigness to......stokeness

Bent to Villa for £18m, Carew to Stoke on loan, Villa reinvest a paltry £3m in getting newly-surplus to requirements Ricardo Fuller from Stoke.

Difficult to see who's done worse out of all this.

Matt DC, Friday, 21 January 2011 13:25 (fifteen years ago)

logical business all round.

Keane crouch double switch to sunderland to fund move for kenwyne jones ties it all up.

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 21 January 2011 13:31 (fifteen years ago)

Spurs would be the losers in all that. Kenwyne Jones is starting to look like one of those strikers people rate for no real reason.

Matt DC, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:04 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i'm not lobbying for it, but it'd be a neat merrygoround.

Defoe, pav to start next few games hopefully tho, crouch just not worth a place on the bus lately

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 21 January 2011 14:25 (fifteen years ago)

so you'd drop vdv? or lennon?

mizzell, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:29 (fifteen years ago)

With our current squad, Defoe should be starting every game, no question.

Matt DC, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:31 (fifteen years ago)

"Liverpool Football Club today unveiled plans for a new supporter consultation group that it hopes will allow fans to help shape the club's future through regular and constructive dialogue with senior LFC officials." - and on the selection panel for the group is ILX's very own D4v3 "The Boyler" B0yl3! Hope he takes this opportunity to perform his long-promised naked dance through Liverpool City Centre.

Stevie T, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:34 (fifteen years ago)

Mislinked there - the actual post.

we're at 10868 this year and it's only January

Ismael Klata, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:40 (fifteen years ago)

xp

I'd drop lennon on recent form, probably, but i cede the point.

The problem is we dont have any striker suited to the 451 that our midfield talents demand. That's why i'd rather one first choice for that role with 442 as a backup option.

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 21 January 2011 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

xp iirc i started posting in earnest around then ;_;

Achillean Heel (darraghmac), Friday, 21 January 2011 14:42 (fifteen years ago)

Rafael banned v Birmingham tomorrow but Fergie jokes: "I might play Rafael instead of Fabio. No-one would know the difference."

mizzell, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:54 (fifteen years ago)

He should just stick Rafael in a shirt with 'Fabio' on the back then.

Matt DC, Friday, 21 January 2011 14:56 (fifteen years ago)

Fergie's obviously been catching up with last week's Observer then

Ismael Klata, Friday, 21 January 2011 15:00 (fifteen years ago)

1. Fuck 'em. Goal kick.
2. Fair play to the lad. Corner.
3. That's racist.

I know it's The Sun, but this seems to have been picked up by various sources. Terrible, terrible idea.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 22 January 2011 10:39 (fifteen years ago)

FIFA seem to have ruled out the winter world cup idea, so I don't think there's is anything in this.

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 22 January 2011 11:17 (fifteen years ago)

Poor old 'arry got mugged in Madrid!

"I just probably looked stupid or something"

Wolves in pretty good form, scoring goals etc. Even so I was optimistic about the game today until I saw that Paulsen was starting, and Johnson playing left back. Oh for Insua and Aquilani, and it wasn't as if they were great last year! Still, all evidence to the contrary, I think LFC will fluke out a 2-1 today. If so that'll do me.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:39 (fifteen years ago)

Big game for us today, we've got a nasty run coming up, Man U, Bolton and Arsenal are the next 3 league games I think. 5 against Doncaster in the week means nothing and we're pure outclassed by City last weekend, but with Hunt and Fletcher finding their form plus Milijas and fingers crossed for Mujangi-Bia coming in, we've finally got some creative midfielders IF MICK PLAYS THEM. Dunno what Hammill's gonna be like, doubt he'll start today.

Why the fuck I've got a bloke coming to put a TV aerial in at 1 o'clock god only knows. Shall be making do with a shitty stream until he's been and gone, then running to the pub for the remainder unless we're 3 down by then.

Magic Our Maurice! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:44 (fifteen years ago)

May the best team win Noodle......unless it's Wolves of course.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:45 (fifteen years ago)

F-Unit (Ste), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:47 (fifteen years ago)

Henry in for Jones is a logical move but jesus I hope he's chilled out a bit while he's been knacked.

Think that was 30 secs without the ball touching the ground

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:49 (fifteen years ago)

Poulsen shd be booked for the next one of them

Magic Our Maurice! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:51 (fifteen years ago)

ah he has booked him, fair enough

Magic Our Maurice! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:52 (fifteen years ago)

On FM 10 Poulsens 'favored moves' include "Arguing with the ref" and "Diving into tackles".

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 12:52 (fifteen years ago)

Lucas had an open goal there if Nando squared it. Mind you I've seen Lucas miss open goals before.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:10 (fifteen years ago)

Okay 1/4 of the way thru' and we look okay. Have picked our tallest back four, but don't think a clean sheet is on the cards.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:11 (fifteen years ago)

was lovely from Meireles. He looks in good touch while hugely discomfited by the pitch

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:12 (fifteen years ago)

seems quite open but I'm only catching the odd minute at the mo

Magic Our Maurice! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:18 (fifteen years ago)

wish we'd play a bit more football. Jarvis really shdn't be playing ahead of Bia or Hammill, I think his time's gone.

Magic Our Maurice! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:19 (fifteen years ago)

Oooh close from Meireles

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:20 (fifteen years ago)

Torres is gonna elbow his marker and get sent off isn't he?

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:22 (fifteen years ago)

I'm watching on a proper big telly today with HD to boot. It's quite a treat, can see every divot.

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:23 (fifteen years ago)

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:24 (fifteen years ago)

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:24 (fifteen years ago)

Good decision from lino.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:24 (fifteen years ago)

Now hold it until h-time.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:25 (fifteen years ago)

Meireles has been great today.

waka flocka flamini (pandemic), Saturday, 22 January 2011 13:29 (fifteen years ago)
