so a friend of mine has just had his profile shut down. no explanation and they're not giving jim an explanation. effing weird.

Also FB made it much easier to detect when a user unlikes a page.

This will Page admins immediately recognize if something they’ve done, like post a controversial status update, is causing users to unsubscribe.

That makes sense, to me. Any developer would love to know what steps/missteps cause changes to their userbase.

The address/phone thing is needless though. This shit's just made me think "fine, no more apps". I cant think of the last time I saw one I *genuinely* needed anyway. Theyre all quizzes, "causes" and horoscope shit.

so this subject was touched on some months ago...but the 10 friends that facebook picks to list under your profile is really bothering me...like I'm pretty sure 80% of the people they list are people with whom you've fb-interacted recently but then there are always 1-2 people who are there for absolutely no reason. what was so bad about just using a pure random group of friends? it's something I notice every time I log in at this point.

Just got kicked over to the new profile mself. Whatev. I think that list of friends it shows you can change - a la myspace top 10 maybe? - but I cant work out how.

Why can't the apps just deal w/granular permissions? There are plenty I would add if only I could say "yeh sure have my name and friends list but i'm fucked if you're posting to my wall or getting my phone number" in the authorise box.

This fucking horrible black-bordered pop-up has just started appearing when you view photos. Really hope it's not permanent. Stop fiddling, Zuckerberg.

An eminently more sensible addition would be to have a hi-res viewing option on photos.

ive noticed on some of my friends photos there is a button for "download hi-res version" now

wonder if FB did the smart thing and stored everybody's photos in their original res when they were uploaded

yeah prob not otherwise shit that was uploaded before they went from 600px wide to 720px wide wouldnt still look tiny and crappy

Nah you can opt to upload in hi res so I'd say its when ppl have chosen that option.

Yeah, pretty sure though that anyone over 50 is still going to just upload 200 x 150s of themselves.

I don't know how you even do that on purpose, let alone on accident.

just noticed that if you get a new notification while in that viewer, you have to close the viewer just to see that you have a new notification. not a big deal, but still poorly designed
