― Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:43 (sixteen years ago) link
It's gonna be 90 degrees today!
Fuck a 90 degrees. No, seriously. Don't tease me with sweater weather and then go back to this.

― n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:46 (sixteen years ago) link
are you some kind of creepy weather stalker?
I wore shorts today, but I am a heavy sweater. It was a good call.
― dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:47 (sixteen years ago) link
I don't want to be at work today. I really need a haircut, but I also want to go to guitar stores and look at guitars and if I get a haircut I won't have time for that. But I REALLY need a haircut.

― dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:01 (sixteen years ago) link
My trainer just called me. He's kind of fickle in his scheduling, so to make up for it, he is giving me a ride to the gym when I'm his first appointment of the day! Hooray! HOOOORRAAAAY11111!!!!!

― kenan, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:51 (sixteen years ago) link
I went to the Spice House this weekend and bought some things (refills of regular stuff, mostly), but as an impulse buy I got this and now I want to put it on (almost) everything I eat.
Here is a description: Hand mixed from: Salt, Louisiana Chile Mash, Garlic, Habanero Chile, Shallots, Tellicherry Pepper, Lime Peel, Pimenton de La Vera, Picane, Cumin, allspice and Vinegar. I also bought some shichimi togarashi (aka Japanese 7-spice) and am looking forward to trying it in some NOODLE SOUP.

i just walked home from the western/milwaukee el stop and it's hotter than fuck out there. my balls are melting like crayons left in the back window of a car.

― dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:04 (sixteen years ago) link
Hmmm. I *was* going to go get some lunch, but I may actually skip it so as to maintain the illusion that it's not hot as fuck outside. As soon as I got here this morning I cranked the a/c DOOOOOWWWWN.

You may be thinking to yourself, "How is the vulcan monster salt different from, say, this stuff: http://www.vonfox.com/Voiceovers/Morton_Hot_Salt.gif ?"
My answer to you would be that the spice house hot salt does not have creepy unidentifyable additives. Ingredients of Morton's hot salt = Ingredients: Salt, spices (including chipotle chili pepper and red pepper), sugar, maltodextrin. Contains two percent or less of the following: natural flavors, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (cottonseed, soybean), silicon dioxide (prevents caking)
― La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:11 (sixteen years ago) link
"spices"
― La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:12 (sixteen years ago) link
We had an office potluck just now, so I haven't been outside since this morning, either.
― jaymc, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:12 (sixteen years ago) link
also, the spice house might have a different quality of spices than cheapo store brands. when i started cooking with penzey's spices i had to decrease the amounts i usually used because they were more potent.
― JuliaA, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:16 (sixteen years ago) link
totally
― La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:19 (sixteen years ago) link
Going to Penzey's makes me want to cook more than almost anything else.
― Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:20 (sixteen years ago) link
It's 87.8 outside right now. ALARMIST LIKE A FOX, I AM!

their default location is NYC. It's kind of odd that they have different cities, since most of the stuff they link to is available online.
