thanks for the heads-up, kev

i'm not current with my IL license, but I'm nationally registered and current in MT. I've been looking into how to make it happen here in Chicago

river wolf, Monday, 24 September 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

Nick, were you trying to post a pic up there? I just see a blank post.

Today is easy.

Hey, you know what's really good? C0zy C0rner. Thanks, Dan.

KitCat, Monday, 24 September 2007 14:54 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I was making a joke similar to Kenan's, but mine was funnier, because it was Hello Kitty, who has no mouth at all.

my weekend: watch the Office, drink, gig, fried chicken, rehearse, gig, ribs, drink, sleep, brunch, record, fried chicken, watch the Office, sleep

Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 14:57 (eighteen years ago)

I have been thinking about guitars and recording a lot this weekend. Probably too much.

n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

recording is awesome

Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:04 (eighteen years ago)

question answered!

kenan, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

I have it on good authority that Hello Kitty uses sunlight energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose through the process of photosynthesis.

n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

I've done a lot of packing, but it seems like there still must be so much more to go. I don't know if that's just a function of having a sink still full of dishes and sheets still on the bed, etc., things that aren't going to change until this weekend, anyway.

dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:31 (eighteen years ago)

I'm a Krebs man, myself.

kenan, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

oh hi are we talking about metabolic pathways

river wolf, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:34 (eighteen years ago)

I really just wanted to talk about poo, but I was foiled by science.

kenan, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

Most of what I learned about Calvin, Krebs, ATP, and the like has been pushed to the foggiest recesses of my brain.

dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)

ahem.

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

I got a holiday card from my uncle & his wife the other day, including the line: "Hope your musical "career" is going well!"

Maybe they're weren't trying to sound patronizing with the quotes but I lol'ed.

Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

HA!

KitCat, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

Slow day around here, eh?

What shall we talk about?

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

It's gonna be 90 degrees today!

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

Fuck a 90 degrees. No, seriously. Don't tease me with sweater weather and then go back to this.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:44 (eighteen years ago)

I heard 84, alarmist.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

sweater weather will come back around in a few days.

JuliaA, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

uh why are you monitoring Chicago weather?
xpost

n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

are you some kind of creepy weather stalker?

n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

I wore shorts today, but I am a heavy sweater. It was a good call.

dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

I don't want to be at work today. I really need a haircut, but I also want to go to guitar stores and look at guitars and if I get a haircut I won't have time for that. But I REALLY need a haircut.

n/a, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

Dan is a sweater in sweaters

Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

jaymc, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

My Firefox weather bar said 90.

I saw a guy wearing a hoodie this morning and I got ANGRY. I was sweating.

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

Did you kick his ass?

dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

My trainer just called me. He's kind of fickle in his scheduling, so to make up for it, he is giving me a ride to the gym when I'm his first appointment of the day! Hooray! HOOOORRAAAAY11111!!!!!

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

No riding the bus at 5 AM for me! NOSIREEE.

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

I need ice cream, all of a sudden. I must have some immediately. Details to follow.

kenan, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

I went to the Spice House this weekend and bought some things (refills of regular stuff, mostly), but as an impulse buy I got this and now I want to put it on (almost) everything I eat.

Here is a description:
Hand mixed from: Salt, Louisiana Chile Mash, Garlic, Habanero Chile, Shallots, Tellicherry Pepper, Lime Peel, Pimenton de La Vera, Picane, Cumin, allspice and Vinegar.

I also bought some shichimi togarashi (aka Japanese 7-spice) and am looking forward to trying it in some NOODLE SOUP.

La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

someone kill this weather

river wolf, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

One of my drunken friends put in my air conditioner on Saturday night so I am cool.

Jordan, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:57 (eighteen years ago)

river wolf, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:58 (eighteen years ago)

i just mopped the living room floor and i want to die too

eating lunch helped, but nothing is gonna make the sweating go away except cooler weather

f this 3rd floor bullshit

La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 17:59 (eighteen years ago)

i just walked home from the western/milwaukee el stop and it's hotter than fuck out there. my balls are melting like crayons left in the back window of a car.

chicago kevin, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

give me all this hot salt

dan m, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmm. I *was* going to go get some lunch, but I may actually skip it so as to maintain the illusion that it's not hot as fuck outside. As soon as I got here this morning I cranked the a/c DOOOOOWWWWN.

Jesse, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

You may be thinking to yourself, "How is the vulcan monster salt different from, say, this stuff: http://www.vonfox.com/Voiceovers/Morton_Hot_Salt.gif ?"

My answer to you would be that the spice house hot salt does not have creepy unidentifyable additives. Ingredients of Morton's hot salt = Ingredients: Salt, spices (including chipotle chili pepper and red pepper), sugar, maltodextrin. Contains two percent or less of the following: natural flavors, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (cottonseed, soybean), silicon dioxide (prevents caking)

La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

"spices"

La Lechera, Monday, 24 September 2007 18:12 (eighteen years ago)

We had an office potluck just now, so I haven't been outside since this morning, either.
