I think Hodgson had lost the players too badly to continue - there was definitely a whiff of deliberation in Gerrard's penalty miss on Wednesday. I'm not sure Dalglish's caretakership will be good for him or Liverpool and I wonder if a public statement from the owners or via Dalglish about exactly what the goals are for the club this season would be a good pre-emptive move. As long as the goals are realistic, obv.

And I don't think O'Neill can instill "Liverpool football". Can't see many Kop-ites being v. happy with a Villa-esque long ball game.

i actually think dalglish is worth a shot, far more so now than in the summer. this season is practically written off so if he was to string a good run of form together then great. if not then nothing lost as he's caretaker anyway.

i mean of all available candidates he has actually won a premier league, and has a pedigree as a manager. i know that was a long time ago but still. people compare it to keegan but keegan never won anything.
