Okay, I give in. Me too. Please.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 04:12 (twenty years ago)

I just discovered this thread! I'd like to add my jingle request to the Jinglesource queue. My preference is for something minimal that would sound good when looped (but I'll accept whatever the JS folks deem appropriate).

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 05:21 (twenty years ago)

I'm considering changing my nick just so's I can get another.
I don't suppose you're down with double dipping, are you jinglemaster?

Kittens Licking Cakes (coco), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 13:00 (twenty years ago)

please can I have one? Something grinding and rumpyish if at all possible. thanks.

Rumpie, Wednesday, 24 August 2005 13:11 (twenty years ago)

Please find below the current jingle queue. As it is somewhat long, fulfillment of the most recently requested jingles may take up to two weeks. Our jingleers and jinglists do, of course, have paid projects and busy private lives to attend to. All requests on the attached list will be honored, in sequence. You may feel free to request further jingles, but I'm sorry to announce that fulfillment of new requests cannot be guaranteed. We will make every effort to accommodate rising demand, but obviously we have lives and stuff.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Wednesday, 24 August 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

what kind of lives do you have at the bottom of the Pacific?

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

I writhe in sweaty anticipation.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 15:26 (twenty years ago)

Thanks for accepting WVVY's order!

Maria :D (Maria D.), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 15:27 (twenty years ago)

WOFS: writhing on floor sweating

Maria :D (Maria D.), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

I'd love one too.

RR (restandrec), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 16:30 (twenty years ago)

I want one so bad I can taste it.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

Okay, I'm gonna press my luck and request a theme song for the Tofu Hut. At your leisure.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 19:15 (twenty years ago)

Thanks john jacob!!!
though i can't make out the third line, i like that im bare-bones bluesy!

Fetchboy (Felcher), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 21:44 (twenty years ago)

Resistance obv. useless. Please add me to the list for whenever the Jingleteam is available.

Bonus points if the jingle artisans can work in the source of my handle.

(and can't wait to see your impact on the Scrobblelist)

rogermexico (rogermexico), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 22:31 (twenty years ago)

i would also cherish a jingle, while fully understanding that you and The Staff are both overwhelmed and have no idea who i am.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 22:54 (twenty years ago)

HOLY CRAP MAY I PLEASE HAVE A JINGLE? MY NAME IS GIBOYEUX.

I would cherish it forever. And ever and ever. OMG. Please!

giboyeux (skowly), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 23:11 (twenty years ago)

...I hope I'm not coming on too strong. These are amazing.

giboyeux (skowly), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 23:14 (twenty years ago)

I decided I just figured this out

; )

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 25 August 2005 00:55 (twenty years ago)

heck i don't want to feel left out. electric sound of jim would like one too.

jimmy glass (electricsound), Thursday, 25 August 2005 00:57 (twenty years ago)

gone quiet...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 25 August 2005 08:26 (twenty years ago)

Press "play" again then.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 25 August 2005 08:31 (twenty years ago)

I would like one, please, but I don't know if I'm enough of a character.

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 25 August 2005 10:21 (twenty years ago)

I made the list! :-) John Jacob Jinglesmith I kiss you!

Gerard (Gerard), Thursday, 25 August 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

It's a bit like the Residents' "Commercial Record" vs The Might be giantsism.

I said it was quiet. On this thread it is. On other threads it's blummin noisy.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 25 August 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

I think I recognise the voice on this. In fact I'm almost sure I know ...

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 25 August 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

i'd like to be on the list too though i'm rather late to all this....

juliaaa, Thursday, 25 August 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

Dearest Anna: I'm sure whoever you think it is is way too cool to waste his or her time at the bottom of the Pacific, writing jingles.

Dearest Fetchboy: The third line of your jingle is "a book-pulping hermit." Our reference librarian informs me that this is a reference to someone named Horrible, or Horrable, or Hrabal, or something. I should also take this opportunity to answer a previous lyric question. The first line of Anthony Easton's jingle is "the pinkest of the meeses."

Dearest all: We apologize for not providing further jingles today. The Jinglesource staff was given leave to celebrate Plankton Day, a popular Pacific holiday. They are currently sleeping it off. More fine products coming soon.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Thursday, 25 August 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

-Jimmy the Mod's is a stone cold classic.
-jaymc's: lovely. misunderstood.
-Ronan's theme music is a tru banger.
-The "he's delicious"x100 portion of MF Gill's mark p remix is disturbingly awesome.
-Adam in Real Life is the best one so far, both moving and catchy.
-STRONGO'S OMG -- the only one I had to listen to twice.
-kate's is truly beautiful!
-I eagerly await every single one of these.
-I have a theory.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

yes, i like mine the more i listen to it!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

I think it's n/a

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:52 (twenty years ago)

Ha ha, I can't even LISTEN to these (due to technical problems/barriers, not psychological ones), let alone write and record them all.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

I will take it as a compliment though.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

i thought it was n/a too. but then it didn't seem like that's what n/a's voice would sound like.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

But --
1. why wouldn't n/a ask for one?
2. something about sarah's post above...cant put my finger on it
3. has to be someone who, i don't know, WRITES SONGS?!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:56 (twenty years ago)

(i have no idea what n/a's voice does or should sound like, by the way)

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:57 (twenty years ago)

We know its an American, so that rules out a lot of crumps right there.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:57 (twenty years ago)

"crumps", while an interesting word (and fun to say!) is not the one I meant to type there by a longshot

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

Roxy, dear, please remember that it hurts Mr. Jinglesmith for you to speculate.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 25 August 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

well, whoever it is is a genius for that strongo theme alone.

xpost AGH! I'm just intrigued! It's out of love and affection! All speculation will now occur offboard through IRC

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

Heh, just teasing!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:03 (twenty years ago)

I now wish I had just let the rumors perpetuate, but I didn't ask for one because:
a. as noted above, I have had technical problems (no music at work, internet at home broken) which kept me from being able to listen to these, so I thought it would be dumb to ask for a jingle I couldn't listen to, and
b. the line got really long really fast, and I am impatient.

BUT!
I am now officially requesting a jingle. SIGN ME UP.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:08 (twenty years ago)

i know who it is

and I can walk out into the world, singing with my people (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

spillet

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:16 (twenty years ago)

We know its an American, so that rules out a lot of crumps right there.

LOL, OMG, WTF?!

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:17 (twenty years ago)

haha! just an extreme typo

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:19 (twenty years ago)

I think john jacob jinglesmith is hitting on me via email.
