or, rather, i don't know

lfam, Monday, 14 May 2007 23:14 (nineteen years ago)

A few years ago I was high enough that I spent the duration of a party sitting in a chair grinning at everyone. The host of the party called me "The Resident Laughing Buddha."

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 14 May 2007 23:30 (nineteen years ago)

at least you weren't trying to be invisible

lfam, Monday, 14 May 2007 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

lol, that just reminded me of this time i got hi with all these kids who went to this terribly snooty boys prep school before a punk concert. my friend in the group got so disengaged and whatnot and sort of sat down and looked at his hand for a while, and then said, "look guys, i'm 3D!" and for the next four years everyone called him 3D-Larry.

he sold some track he made to 50 Cent recently. he's still a moron, tho.

Leisure Suit 3D-Larry

Abbott, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:31 (nineteen years ago)

did the party host serve any dr pepper to the resident laughing buddha?

estela, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:38 (nineteen years ago)

Alas, there was no keyboard.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:41 (nineteen years ago)

Man, I know it signifies 'dipshit,' but 3-D Larry is about the best nickname I've ever heard. Half bcz Larry is such a fucking potato name.

Abbott, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:43 (nineteen years ago)

:) xp

estela, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:46 (nineteen years ago)

your hippie parents

youn, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 00:50 (nineteen years ago)

He's a weird dude. A potato on the outside, but he could make a guitar sing. Before he turned 3-D, even.

But yeah, all the outer trappings of potato. Frat-boy at some southern uni that is very distinguished (forget which).

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 01:08 (nineteen years ago)

I wonder if I'm the only person who roots for both Ottawa and Toronto.

Sundar, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 02:35 (nineteen years ago)

pot=absolute number one motherfucking classic of all time. pretty much unbeatable.

max, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

which is more dud: people who have never drank alcohol and criticize everyone who does, or people who have never gotten high and criticize everyone who has? It's a tossup...

Z S, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 03:02 (nineteen years ago)

The host of the party called me "The Resident Laughing Buddha."

chaki, Thursday, 1 November 2007 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

Has anyone else switched over to the clear cellulose rollies?

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

And yet I know who you are! (xp)

I love these things! They burn nicely and evenly with no runs. They need to make longer and wider ones, though.

Lolpez, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

once you figure out the nuances of rolling with them, they're great, eh!?
the one annoying thing is how they go out as soon as you ignore it for a few seconds.

chaki, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

and you can see through them!!

chaki, Thursday, 1 November 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

and it seemed so unnatural and wrong at first!

The cellulose rollies roll easier than papers, I find. And yeah, they do go out if you ignore them for too long, but that's not a bad thing.

Lolpez, Thursday, 1 November 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

Man, those cellulose papers end up getting all stuck on me. It's like smoking a j rolled scotch tape. Maybe my rolling technique is off?

Trip Maker, Thursday, 1 November 2007 18:29 (eighteen years ago)

Im not a fan and it almost ruined "That '70s Show" for me until I realized that was heroin they were smoking in the circle.

Our local news anchors call it "pot". Is that normal?

sunny successor, Friday, 2 November 2007 03:18 (eighteen years ago)

Not if he's trying to sell it to you.

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Friday, 2 November 2007 03:25 (eighteen years ago)

I used to love it but don't seem to be capable of enjoying it anymore. Every time I smoke I just feel the same dull, irritating cloudiness without much of the beautiful sensory overload I used to get.

Hurting 2, Friday, 2 November 2007 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

i smoked with my parents for the first time this summer. i knew my dad smoked and brought some home specifically at his request, but christ, my mom? that was unexpected. she was so militantly anti-drug when i was growing up and confiscated much from both my sister and i. one time she searched my sister's bag and found smelling salts, like the packets that come in first aid kits, and in all seriousness asked us "are these POPPERS?!" my sister had no clue what poppers were, and i just started laughing because i only knew of them as a fabled gay club drug which nobody in rural new england would ever even no where to obtain or why. she had obviously read about it in an outdated pamphlet and decided we were poppers addicts or something.

Anyways sorry to digress (weed lol) after smoking with the family, my mom later asked if i would be her "hook-up"! it just is so funny to me.

weed is classic, basically

bell_labs, Friday, 2 November 2007 03:36 (eighteen years ago)

also, i have no idea why my sister had smelling salts in her bag, but it probably was to see if you could get high of them. we were stupid, stupid teenagers.

bell_labs, Friday, 2 November 2007 03:38 (eighteen years ago)

neutral. obvious classicness potential, but I've had some less-than-great experiences lately. basically, like 99% of things in life, it depends who you do it with.
