ughhh doesn't sound good. i'll get a knee support sleeve though.

also, when i'm not running, i don't feel it. well, hardly, bar the v occasional and v mild twinge.

I don't have any personal experience with knee problems but if you're not wearing proper running shoes I suspect you're bound to run into injuries eventually.

Tarzan Bot (seandalai), Thursday, 6 January 2011 17:38 (fifteen years ago)

theres tons of stuff online abt what exactly tendonitis feels like what diff injuries are etc - if it gets worse def rest and ice - i stupidly ignored knee tendonitis a couple years ago and ended up not being able to run for a couple months when i couldve just rested for a couple weeks - my only running injury - v common most runners encounter it at some point

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 January 2011 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

def strengthening the muscles around the knee helps via doing squats etc

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 January 2011 17:53 (fifteen years ago)

Where on the knee? Lateral, under, kneecap?

Jeff, Thursday, 6 January 2011 17:59 (fifteen years ago)

not entirely clear but i think...under?

lex diamonds (lex pretend), Thursday, 6 January 2011 18:12 (fifteen years ago)

so...a couple of weeks rest, if it is tendonitis, is what's needed - nothing else?

lex diamonds (lex pretend), Thursday, 6 January 2011 18:13 (fifteen years ago)

ice, elevation, u know the usual

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 January 2011 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 January 2011 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

I actually like running in the rain. But then I live in Portland.

i definitely prefer/miss running in seattle rain to running in east coast cold!

tehresa, Saturday, 8 January 2011 01:51 (fifteen years ago)

jed_, Sunday, 9 January 2011 04:37 (fifteen years ago)

how warm do you typically dress before a run in this weather ice? I'd like to start again.

iatee, Sunday, 9 January 2011 04:38 (fifteen years ago)

i wear sweats and hat and gloves add thermals if its below 20 - you generate a lot of the heat yrself - obvs everyones different tho

ice cr?m, Sunday, 9 January 2011 04:41 (fifteen years ago)

plax (ico), Sunday, 9 January 2011 15:33 (fifteen years ago)

Haven't experience that pain. I'm sure it's just on the horizon for me.

Jeff, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

Get a garmin. Seriously. You won't regret it.

Jeff, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

o im getting one

ice cr?m, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

I probably wouldn't run if I couldn't get detailed data from it.

Jeff, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i have no doubt it will make me better at running

ice cr?m, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:28 (fifteen years ago)

plax (ico), Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

feel p good also

plax (ico), Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

ipod thing is like a glorified pedometer basically... cool for tracking speed/distance/calories, but no info about terrain or mapping.

tehresa, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

i mean for $20 it is cool obv you get a lot more when you spend $$$$$$ for a garmin

tehresa, Sunday, 9 January 2011 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

roustabout (cozen), Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:03 (fifteen years ago)

like a garmin (GPS & nike+ integration) but not huge and hopefully not too $$$

roustabout (cozen), Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:06 (fifteen years ago)

whatre the benifits of nike+ integration besides that it seems just like the garmin (many garmins r not huge btW)

ice cr?m, Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:10 (fifteen years ago)

I am the lowest-tech serious runner I know (apart from shoes) but I do see the the appeal of a Garmin.

Dans la Bot (seandalai), Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:46 (fifteen years ago)

what is the P Park circuit, 6 mi?

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

3.35

ice cr?m, Sunday, 9 January 2011 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

oh! that short eh

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 9 January 2011 18:05 (fifteen years ago)

oh man if my husband sees that garmin thing it's all over for me - he's a total nerd for that sort of stuff.

just1n3, Sunday, 9 January 2011 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

just1n3, Sunday, 9 January 2011 18:28 (fifteen years ago)
