Didn't see much of it as it happens - unscheduled new year's day trip to a&e in the middle. I saw the end and the beginning - they looked a bit ropey, but committed and on the attack so a big improvement. Big congrats at the end from all staff and players, except that gerrard only gave him a cursory pat on the shoulder.

My little boy fell out of his seat and bashed his head in the middle of dinner - they see you right away for things like that, but yeah, excellent service. We live right next to the hospital too. He'll be okay but grumpy is the diagnosis. It's a great result in the circumstances.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 1 January 2011 17:31 (fifteen years ago)
good to hear he's okay and it didn't take too long.
can he play on the wing at all??

Thanks fellas. He can't stand up yet, so Babel probably still a better option for the next month or two.

Inevitable.
Happens over and over with Villa the last few years - the minute they try to park the bus they get too tired and give up late goal after late goal. Frustrating.

Sensational corner from Newcastle there - a variation on the pull-back-for-the-Scholes-volley, except for a Coloccini header, which hit the bar.

"Yeah I got lots of stick from the Chelsea fans who had been silent until Terry scored. Ive got to be impartial on the radio? Where in the rules does it say that? I've been a Villa fan since I was 7 and my team has just equalized in injury time and I'm supposed to just stand there? No chance."

Someone should remind the Chelsea fans that Collymore's a woman-beating sex pest mentalist and they shouldn't be listening to Tork Sport anyway.

That you tube still is for Collymore's stand up Lp right? Or possibly his hiphop opus.

Umm... £13M is the number being bandied about for a youngster currently being kept out of the Dutch side by none other than Dirk Kuyt, but ideally plays in the same position as Ryan Babel, who is also picked ahead of him for the Dutch. Who left his first club in the huff after falling out with the manager. And was at the heart of the racism row that surrounded the Dutch at the World Cup (when he said nasty things about Moroccans, but claimed it was just all directed at his "mate" who's OK with it and calls him "negro" all the time). And has managed a grand total of 8 matches since the WC after falling out with his current coach.
Is it just me that doesn't see that as the best use of money?
