Snow is pretty

i want it to snow more, like a foot or so

This morning I realized that, as the employee at a secondary school, I could be the beneficiary of snow days this year! It has excited me! And driven me to overuse of exclamatory statements. !!!

Was today a snow day? Snow days are wonderful! Also, grow a pair!!

hey, by chance does anyone know of a nonprofit organization or agency or something that helps self-managed condo buildings when they have difficulties/legal issues/questions?

i would be surprised if there were such a thing, but who knows.

do not agree to be on the condo board. it is thankless, tiresome, and tedious beyond your worst nightmares. they will ask you, and you shall decline if you know what's good for you. i think that's all i am legally allowed to say.

And Amanda, YES I do know of a nonprofit that does such things, but I forget the name BUT The Good Emily knows the name (and we have a contact there) BUT she is at lunch. So I will tell you in approx. one half hour.

Or at least they are a general tenants' rights organization/housing advocates, but they could at least point you somewhere if they couldn't help you, and they might be able to.

Snow days should always take some serious weather. However, as I work at a private school (oh, wait, I mean *independent* school), the conditions are more flexible. I recall from past winters that the private schools were much more commonly shut down due to weather. As a result, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

we've only had one snow day in the last two years, but it was at night (only night classes were cancelled) so i had already been to work and spent three hours slogging home.

i heard that the city colleges didn't even shut down on 9/11
community colleges don't mess around, i guess.

hey guys have u been to the whistler yet??? its in logan sq -- my friend and i tasted all of the coctails on saturday & they are very good -- kind of like a smaller, cozier and less gimmicky violet hour (nb i love the gimmicky-ness of the violet hour)

i emailed the whistler dude because they have bands play there and we're always looking for new small fun places to play. the owner/manager/? is in blu3 ribbon gl33 club, the "indie rock" acappella ensemble

i met him saturday, good dude. u should just walk in and grab a drink sometime and start chatting, they're all pretty friendly + the drinks are A+

violet hour is a fancy cocktail bar speakeasy style. in wicker park. i guess it is affected but i love it.

i like sitting at the bar @ the violet hour but i like sitting at the tables less -- i was on a date when i went and it felt very separated and weird, like we couldnt look at each other and talk comfortably

Pay-Per-Use Customers:

If you are a pay-per-use customer, you will be charged the new fare beginning January 1, 2009. The new pay-per-use fare will be $2 for the bus and $2.25 for the train. Also on this date, CTA will change the Chicago Card Plus pay-per-use reload dollar amounts to $10, $20, $40, $60, and $80. Any Chicago Card Plus customers who are currently reloading at the $30 level will need to change their choice. Otherwise on January 1, 2009, they will be automatically switched to the $20 level. It is recommended that all Chicago Card Plus customers log into their accounts and change their reload amounts to match their usage.

30-Day Pass Customers:

If you are a Chicago Card Plus 30-day pass customer, any credit card reload charges on or prior to December 31, 2008 for 30-day passes will be in the amount of $75. Any reload charges on or after January 1, 2009 will be in the amount of $86. Please log into your account at www.chicago-card.com to view your pass information and verify your scheduled reload date.
