i spend my life vmic. Ppl make allowances eventually.
Essien was never yr creative midfielder, he did (and will do again) everything else you's want from your centre and more.

baird!
West Brom are fucking beautiful.
― The referee was perfect (Chris), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 15:18 (fifteen years ago)
This is probably getting boring now, but West fucking Brom. Had a throw in near their own goal, left back took it, they passed their way out of their own box, Scharner ran it out and passed it across to the left back who had bombed on after taking the throw... just making everything they do look so effortless. The midfield's so fluid! They're a joy to watch.

what'd kboul do?
― all i gotta do is akh nachivly (darraghmac), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 16:31 (fifteen years ago)
head butt on Tiote. More like an agressive head rub than a butt, to be honest. They were both jawing and Kaboul pushed his noggin onto Tiote's face. At least Tiote didn't go down like he was shot or anything.
― EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 28 December 2010 16:33 (fifteen years ago)
Blackpool are 15 points away from the magic 40, assuming this is the end result. And West Brom 18. Surely they must do it....

Spurs should start every game with ten men and a one-goal deficit IMO.

7pts between 18th and 8th. is that normal or a bit low for this time of year?
― a le tiss faux-cunt (Upt0eleven), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 16:56 (fifteen years ago)
Shit could still get rocky for Blackpool, they have a small squad and a growing fixture backlog, but I'd be overjoyed to see them stay up. West Brom I think have enough to make it pretty comfortably in the end. I'm having difficulty seeing anyone other than the three Ws going down at the moment.
― Matt DC, Tuesday, 28 December 2010 16:59 (fifteen years ago)
no, that's more what I'd expect at, say, that start of November xp

Seven points separating the top five seems unusual as well. It's just a condensed, inconsistent league this year.
― Matt DC, Tuesday, 28 December 2010 17:05 (fifteen years ago)
not that it'll happen but if Bolton leapfrog Chelsea w/ Spurs legitimately ahead of both I'll prolly frame a copy of that table to look at during the bad times
― When I Pardew I See Rakes (DJ Mencap), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 17:09 (fifteen years ago)
Spurs' first clean sheet in the league since the opening day v Man City.
― The referee was perfect (Chris), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 17:14 (fifteen years ago)
looking at their upcoming fixtures i can't see many games from which blackpool definitely won't get points. don't want to tempt fate but with west brom, birmingham, sunderland again - reckon they could be safe by mid-feb.

Phil McNulty reports: "West Ham boss Avram Grant will want his side to build on the Boxing Day victory at fellow Premier League strugglers Fulham to make it an excellent Christmas programme and ease any lingering doubts about his position, although they must do it against an Everton team that have proved a thorn in their side in the past. Everton counterpart David Moyes is hoping their outstanding win at Manchester City will finally inject momentum into their season, and they will be well rested after the Boxing Day meeting at home to Birmingham City was a victim of the big freeze."
= west ham want to win= everton want to win
thanks phil

Yeah, there's no way United aren't winning tonight - Birmingham being dire + Utd hitting form + City going top = perfect alignment of planets
― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 28 December 2010 18:26 (fifteen years ago)
you can't've got great odds on that double though
im essentially too stingy to gamble anything over a fiver.
― À la recherche du temps Pardew (jim in glasgow), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 18:26 (fifteen years ago)
£64 pounds profit if it comes in. i liked to go for short odds, that's usually were the money is imo. put £2 on ridic accumulators, fiver on first goalscorers/score anytime, and £20-50 on doubles.
― À la recherche du temps Pardew (jim in glasgow), Tuesday, 28 December 2010 18:27 (fifteen years ago)
It was 14 points this time last season, 7 the one before, and 15 the one before that.
10 last season, 10 the one before, and 11 the one before that.

ball nodded back to him from edge of pen box to near corner quadrant, had the option of checking back, first-time cross or trapping and winning corner off defender...but he chose to try and beat the defender first-time around the back despite having abt 2 yards of space and basically bundled the ball out for a goal-kick in as comprehensive a fashion as I have ever seen
