I saw Fab and Albert from the Strokes and Drew Barrymore at the bar around the corner from Irving Plaza after the 1st of the last 3 Guided by Voices shows in NY this year. Yes, I was drunk and offered them Klonopin and had Drew say hi to my friend in Albany. She seemed kinda hassled to do it but was nice about it. My friend I was with said they were trying to score coke but I'm not sure I believe him.

was just in new york for the last week. saw owen wilson at the broome st. grille (short), carson queer eye waiting for someone in front of my hotel (deranged; flanked by men), some designer lady from a tv show called surprise by design that my girlfriend recognized, i think her name was becky, drinking in the bar of our hotel (ugliest coat i have ever seen; trashed), bobby brown walking down 5th ave (fast walker; flanked by reality tv crew), a couple others that i might remember soon but now i am busy nursing a probably broken liver.

Once saw Stewart Lee in a bar in Edinburgh. We were looking for a friend of mine called R1chard Th0mas, which is the same name as the musician who SL wrote Jerry Springer: The Opera with; so we had a rather confused conversation.

Also in Edinburgh, during the festival, a few years ago: Ken Campbell was stood behind me in the queue at the all-night supermarket.

I saw Moby at the Film Forum concessions counter last week, garnishing his popcorn. (Not as memorable a FF moment as the time Keanu Reeves and his two friends repeatedly circled the auditorium at a sold-out showing of a Lenny Bruce documentary before they secured 3 folding chairs in the back.)

That bloke from Eastenders, possibly called Minty, who used to be an extra who was one of Phil Mitchell's hard nut mates and then worked his way up to a speaking role as the unrequited lover of Sam Mitchell and now may or may not be in it any more (I gave up watching it about a year ago). He moved into the flat directly across the street from my flat a few weeks ago.

Also, Bernard Butler must live very nearby too. I've seen him around a few times. Once I found myself sitting opposite him on the Victoria Line. We both got off at Finsbury Park and both queued up for the same bus. Then we both got off at the same bus stop and walked down the same three streets. By this stage I was getting worried he would think I was a mad stalker so I pretended to tie my shoelace until he disappeared out of sight.

I saw Steve Coogan and his missus a few weeks ago. They were pulling out of the Ditchling Beacon carpark (in a silver Porsche, sadly not a Lexus) as we were pulling in. We were so excited, we almost crashed into the bugger. And I could see him mutter to his wife something like "what the hell are those prats up to?". A-ha!
