i'm in miami! i feel like david caruso. YYYYEAAAAH! (this airport is horrible btw.)

I so did not think much of Miami's airport the one time I was there, the exception being the Cuban sandwiches (which I'm sure are much better in town and all but compared to most airport food in general are manna from heaven).

Most beautiful airport (for real): Ushuaia in southern Argentina. Small, modern, all wood, huge ceilings.

the food options in american airlines terminal d are the pits. orange chicken is dodgy as a general rule, but this was a whole new level of bad.

Now I go home (I hope?) from buffalo to NYC but flight is scheduled to leave in 10 min and does not appear to be here yet.

It's the strangest airport I've been to on my 10 week trip. It has a tiny waterfall and native art dotted around the place. More airports should be like this...

What is everybody's nomination for best airport food? I haven't been in many, and haven't hung around to eat in the all the ones I've been in, but Detroit had a long concourse with a bunch of decent looking eats, and I was able to get sushi during a short layover.

I should have sought out this one the last time I was there. I had an hour to kill since after loading everyone on the plane and having us fasten the seat belts, they figured out there was a "loose piece of metal" on the bottom of the plane and we'd have to switch planes.

The Anchor Steam Brew Pub in the airport made a nice tuna sandwich that my expense account paid for, though.

i was in an airport in PEI this morning. very early this morning.

Hello from Dubai. Only two hours to go before my connecting flight, but fortunately I have an excellent buffet not ten yards from my chair. I have been at the mini pittas and halloumi. But my body clock is fucked.

phoenix, i bought a gq and the cologne ads were killing me. being the worst smelling thing on a plane is quite an achievement.

I miss the days of being able to just wander around an airport. Each time I go through LAX, I get "locked" inside the international terminal which is basically just one long hallway with a newstand, a duty-free shop, and a Burger King.

LAX does have some of those caged in smoking areas that you can access even after you have been locked down. which is better then most

hi laurel! i'm sitting in a corner of the terminal and a couple of cute australian kids are playing with matchbox cars in front of me.

St Louis has smoking fishbowls, too! They're actually better than usual, b/c they're not completely enclosed so the 4th side is open to the terminal, they must just have really efficient ventilation systems (b/c you can't smell any smoke outside 'em).

The best is still Minneapolis, though -- the smoking section is attached to a honest-to-god BAR, and it's just around the corner and down the hall from the best used bookstore I have ever been in.

I liked Minneapolis with their tiny little escalators.
