o'neill would do better than roy, roy is never going to do any better than he's doing now. let's just face it, he's a 50 per cent manager at best.

There's no way Liverpool should be losing to Newcastle, Newcastle are and were terrible. Big Sol disgracing himself again, if only anyone thought to take advantage. Having more possession and shots/shots on target almost makes the defeat worse somehow, I guess just because it was so predictable. Turning into a side that loses these kind of matches is not a positive development.
They also seem to be eternally condemned to being a one-man team. Right now that man is Meireles. Dread to think whose turn it'll be next.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 11 December 2010 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

pardew
― every clint has a silva lining (nakhchivan), Saturday, 11 December 2010 22:53 (fifteen years ago)
Because they were hopeless, basically - I'm not making some kind of status point here, it's a bit late to be relying on that to get results.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 11 December 2010 22:54 (fifteen years ago)
It's not like Liverpool were outmuscled or outthought or anything. They had loads of time and space and did nothing with it, except give Newcastle enough time and space to lumber their way to three goals.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 11 December 2010 22:57 (fifteen years ago)
I'd fancy Roberto Di Matteo but I can't see West Brom letting him go anytime soon.

― Princess BigSam (DJ Mencap), Saturday, 11 December 2010 23:12 (fifteen years ago)
I'm of a mind to let Woy muddle along until the end of the season. We'll finish top half imo. But under NO circumstances should he be given any money to spend in January (that's if we even have any anyway)
― prop joe cole (pandemic), Saturday, 11 December 2010 23:15 (fifteen years ago)
Didn't see the whole incident properly but MOTD setting Balotelli up as the panto villain seemed to be a bit of a nonsense, especially as the 'evidence' only seemed to consist of him looking a bit pissed off that he didn't get a free kick.
Also, how nasty was Jonathan Pearce's commentary! Whispering the players' names in that really condescending tone like he's telling a bedtime story.
And is it just me or does anyone else find that 'touch the ball and tip toe back a few paces' thing that Etherington does incredibly hateful!

Big man for a big job: Blackburn's Sam Allardyce has been tipped as the next England manager by one of his former players, Kevin Davies
‘If you speak to the players they would say they enjoyed playing under him,’ said Davies. ‘His knowledge of football is very good but he’s also very good at getting the best out of players, whether that is from a rollicking or an arm around the shoulder.
‘It’s one of his strengths. I remember going on a pre-season tour and he invited me up to his hotel suite and we had a chat and realised my confidence was low.
'He worked on that, as I’d taken a few knocks at Southampton. I realised I was basically on trial here, but he made me feel great.
‘He knows how to get you firing. I was out of shape when I got here but that soon changed and here I am now.’
