oh ok, it was the filter SUBSCRIPTION that i needed to set up.

Go tools>Adblock Plus>Filters>Add Filter Subscription. Then choose EasyList (USA).

i swear this was automatic on every other computer ive used adblock on.

Has anyone found that it's impossible to hide friends' (by which I mean younger family members) appalling online gaming choices? My sister just started playing something called Bubble Speed and you can't click on an option that says 'hide Bubble Speed'. ARGH.

"1) Take a screenshot of your Facebook profile page, open it up in Photoshop
2) Create 6 selections (1 for the "default" pic on the left, and 5 for the little image preview boxes)
3) Use these selections to create a "clipping mask" with the large image that you want to use, arrange/scale image as necessary
4) Crop and individually save each of the 6 images
5) Upload, tag, and arrange the images accordingly

NOTE: As you become tagged in newer pictures, they will offset those "preview" images, but you can manually hide any newer pictures (by clicking the X) to keep the integrity of your new, huge, disjointed profile image."

It's like its own genre.

It's not that I even disagree with what they hate or are suspicious about, but at least explain what makes it fascinating and helpful to millions of people -- including the author of these essays.

It's hard to maintain an air of superiority that way though.

I read it last week, and my memory told me she said she came back to the site once or twice (maybe that was another article?)

but the point stands regarding articles like that: they skim over why the the subject is so popular or interesting to people, and many times the authors admit to still indulging in it.
