I guess the only thing that can be said for it is that they perhaps mean "you don't get to make your own iTunes store", rather than talking about the iTunes app. But even so.

According to the Frotz code page, you can upgrade and still use outside zmachine files, providing you transfer them in thru the build-in browser.

In other words, zshare transfers allegedly should still work. Haven't tried it yet, tho.

I checked with the developer before upgrading. Works very well.

Apparently Firmware 2.1 breaks the current version of Last.fm, but there's going to have an upgrade available in less than a week.

Does anyone else have an intermittent problem with the screen not rotating in Safari? Mine still does it in 2.1.

k, apparently the accelerometer can't get an accurate reading when you're walking, which DER FREDDIE makes sense.

Did any of you have to upgrade to iTunes 8.0 by chance? I tried to sync the phone last night, but iTunes crashed, and I got a pop-up IE window from Microsoft support (lol) saying i had to upgrade to the latest iTunes. Once I did, it was fine, but no one mentioned it here, so I assume either everything either already had iTunes 8.0 or I was an unlucky with the random crash.

The most annoying thing about launching iTunes 8.0 for the first time is that it defaults to the thumbnail view of your music database first, which means you have to wait the hour or so for iTunes to grab *all* the album artwork before you can even switch to the original list view, which is all I care for anyway.

Also, Genius Sidebar? Apple's attempt at their own last.fm? (I didn't mean to turn it on.)

Haha. Functionally it's fine, but the algorithm needs some time/work to produce effective matches.

Does it log what you've played a la last.fm?

I know others like recommendations, but I find auto-recommendations mostly useless. :/

haha. amazing that pretty much the very first third-party app is still essentially useless.

so. upgraded to 2.1 ... and the backup during the first sync took longer than ever before.

Do another. Mine's dead quick now.

Backup times seem to be proportional to the amount of "stuff" that occurs on your iPhone since the last sync. What "stuff" takes longer than not is the question. Otherwise, it's better to backup often than never, especially for appaddicts like myself, so get used to it or get something else instead.
