It gets worse by the minute though. And Meireles isn't worth that now, is he? As much as I like the guy, it does class itself as a "don't buy a player straight after a decent world cup" price. Jones was worth double that the year before and looking like he was going to go to Liverpool or Spurs. Did his ability lessen? No.

Just saying, NO club will pay 10m for Niko. Most clubs can't afford to spend 10m on any player after buying 1 a season until they noticed they should have never done so in the first place.

I don't think anyone will pay £10m for Kranjcar either, but you'd get £10m of value from him playing him week in week out in a half-decent team. He's worth more than £3m, I reckon he'll probably end up going for £7m-ish.

Still, there's more than on your list. Arshavin, Defoe, Nani to name three off the top of my head.

Don't think Harry's that desperate to sell JJ given he's been playing him in more games than he merits this season. Unless he's being super-cynical and putting him back in the shop window just for the sake of it.
