I thought conventional wisdom was that Vault = Surge w/a minor color change?

Q: Why is SaveSURGE.org supporting Vault? It's not SURGE and we shouldn't accept any non-SURGE substitute. Is this because they sent you free Vault and merchandise???
A: When we first heard about Vault and the rumors that it was the "next SURGE", we were very skeptical. Once it began test-marketing in May 2005, we started receiving reports from fans claiming that Vault was the real deal. That it was so similar to SURGE that you couldn't help but love and accept it. Still, we were skeptical — until we tried it! The fact is, Vault is indeed incredibly close to SURGE. And, after over three years of wrestling with Coca-Cola, we felt this was something to celebrate! While we didn't get the SURGE name, we did get a beverage that we don't mind calling the next incarnation of SURGE. In fact, our community was given credit for the existance of Vault!

I have never had any of these Mountain Dews - not even the original!

ENBB, Monday, 14 April 2008 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

I always thought that Mountain Dew had something to do with Appalachian morning outhouse wee-wee but maybe not huh?

last week I was in Annapolis on a day when the whole town was being invaded by street teams for MONSTER ASSAULT ENERGY DRINK, which tasted totally disgusting. a list of ingredients runs along the top of the can, including "Taurine," so my friends and I took pictures of each other drinking it at an angle so it looked like it just said "urine." true story.

My brother Bill runs a still on the hill
Where he turns out a gallon or two
And the buzzards in the sky get so drunk they can not fly
Just from sniffing that good old mountain dew.

Chorus
They call it that good old mountan dew,
And them that refuse it are few.
I'll hush up my mug if you'll fill up my jug
With that good old mountain dew.

My aunt Lucille had an automobile,
It ran on a gallon or two.
It didn't need no gas and it didn't need no oil,
It just ran on that good old mountain dew.

Repeat chorus

My uncle Mort, he is sawed off and short,
He measure 'bout four foot two,
But he thinks he's a giant when you give him a pint
Of that good old mountain dew.

Repeat chorus

Old Auntie June had a brand new perfume,
It had such a wonderful "pew"
But to her surprise, when she had it analyzed,
It was nothing but that good old mountain dew

Repeat chorus

I know a guy named Pete, his hair ain't so neat,
Though he fixes it with syrup and blue,
But it stays right in place when he uses just a trace
Of that good old mountain dew.

Repeat chorus

The preacher-he walked by, with a big tear in his eye
Said that his wife had the flu
And hadn't I ought just to give him a quart
Of that good old mountain dew

Repeat chorus

My uncle Klaus had a real mean old mouse
When they asked how it happened,
He said it was a lappin'
That good old mountain dew

Repeat chorus

There's an old hollow tree, just a little way from me
Where you lay down a dollar or two
If you hush up your mug, then they'll give you a jug
Of that good old mountain dew

Repeat chorus

You take a little trash and you mix it up with ash,
And you throw in the soul of a shoe,
Then you stir it awhile with an old rusty file,
And they call it that good old mountain dew.

Repeat chorus

During the last war, we couldn't get no more,
We didn't have no sugar for the dew
With a few old potaters and a few ripe tomaters,
We turned out some stuff, I'm tellin' you

Repeat chorus

Old Deacon Crane took a trip in the rain,
Said his wife had come down with the flu,
But she'll be all right if you give her a pint
Of that good old mountain dew.

Repeat chorus

Mr. Franklin Roosevelt, he told me how he felt
The day the old dry law went through:
If your likker's too red, it will swell up your head
Better stick to that good old mountain dew

why do all the dewmocracy flavors have ginseng in them?

Eric H., Saturday, 7 June 2008 04:21 (eighteen years ago)

I know! I like caffeine -- ok, I need it -- and sugar is ok, but ginseng and caffeine in concert do really weird tweaky scary shit to me. I go into a "g-hole." It's very unpleasant.

kenan, Saturday, 7 June 2008 04:53 (eighteen years ago)

I like the ginseng flavor.

Abbott, Saturday, 7 June 2008 05:32 (eighteen years ago)

I just got a bottle of the blue stuff ("Voltage"). I am going to mix it with this:
http://www.bluecoatgin.com/img/home_2.jpg
and see if that offers any amusement. I have strong doubts that it will.

El Tomboto, Sunday, 8 June 2008 22:31 (eighteen years ago)

we are having an office taste test of all the dew-mocracy flavors. I have gotten my SWO addicted to the website where they're tracking the votes by state.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

my question is: why do these all have BERRY in them. ATTN MT DEW, PITCH BLACK I & II both SUCKED, stop with the berries already

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

"revolution" better than either "voltage" or "supernova," according to me and like one other guy. Live Wire was included as a control - it was determined that Live Wire still tastes like somebody tried to make fizzy Tang and put too much powder in.
