Alison Brie seriously does some Lucille Ball-type physicality every fucking week and it's amazing

JIMMY MOD THE SACK MASTER (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 19 November 2010 04:47 (fifteen years ago)

Oh exactly, I can't think of very many actresses that could pull off her fall on the floor and speak in tongues gag.

i started watching this like 5 minutes into it and i could not make heads nor tails of what was going on

shirley summistake (s1ocki), Friday, 19 November 2010 05:24 (fifteen years ago)

Interesting to find out that Dan Harmon doesn't actually have a writer's credit since the second episode of the first season, and that there are SO MANY writers on this show. That's why the episodes are so different from week to week. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Community_episodes

tbh, I figured while I was watching tonight's episode that Harmon had gone crazy one night and hammered this script out in 20 minutes in a fit of delusional brilliance.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 19 November 2010 05:35 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know!

...but-- but--

I don't know!

Nhex, Friday, 19 November 2010 08:01 (fifteen years ago)

this was kind of amazing, tbh

BIG MUFFIN (gbx), Friday, 19 November 2010 08:03 (fifteen years ago)

except the abed/troy bit at the end (it's mainstream, shut it down) was pretty wince-y. the meta jokes are funny but a little too close to the wind sometimes.

also: yeah, alison brie's physical acting was pretty phenomenal. actually, pretty much everyone was a little more cartoonish in this one, now that i think about it.

BIG MUFFIN (gbx), Friday, 19 November 2010 08:07 (fifteen years ago)

totally awesome.

Having finished a stint at community college just about a year ago, and taking more than half of my classes at night, I can back up the authenticity of the inherent creepiness of a campus after dark. The freaks come out.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 19 November 2010 08:34 (fifteen years ago)

chase thru the fort was pretty great

Stockhausen's Helicopter Quartet (Elvis Telecom), Friday, 19 November 2010 09:49 (fifteen years ago)

the parade thing was straight out of hitchcock. 39 steps? nbnw?

s.clover, Friday, 19 November 2010 21:24 (fifteen years ago)

I thought it was more of a parody of different movie chase scenes. Hitchcock came to mind, as well as The Fugitive Harrison Ford version.

Also, that's John Oliver in the wizard garb I presume?

EveningStar (Sund4r), Saturday, 20 November 2010 03:00 (fifteen years ago)

excited for claymation now!

Kevin Corrigan is the shit, he was great as the bowling-alley shrink in Fringe too.

And omg the fort chase was terrific.

That is the stench of tyranny (VegemiteGrrrl), Saturday, 20 November 2010 03:03 (fifteen years ago)

great episode. I love conspiracy theories/political thriller type stuff, this one was great. No less then the "this is a zombie film pastiche" or "this is an action film pastiche", just less reliant on props/costumes. And Kevin Corrigan always kills it.

dan selzer, Saturday, 20 November 2010 05:00 (fifteen years ago)

omg that claymation, i'm going to die. is pierce a teddy bear?

literally the worst thing that ever happened on this planet (reddening), Saturday, 20 November 2010 05:04 (fifteen years ago)

Annie was off-the-charts awesome in this episode, her lolling around in the hallways yelling "bleep bloop" was so defiant and unabashed.

human fleshy kids (stevie), Saturday, 20 November 2010 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

according to Dan Harmon, the stop-motion Christmas episode is going to be completely stop-motion, not just portions interspersed with live action. someone tell Perpetua so he can get a head start on complaining.
