Me, too! Now you know that it is good on bagels, so you can get some bagels and some pumpkin butter.

Oh did I not mention the flax-seed peanut butter? So good.

Dark chocolate sea salt caramels (holiday seasonal item): I LOVE YOU
these shits are so good

chocolate - high quality
caramel - buttery and smooth
salt - salty and from the DEAD SEA (purportedly)

anyway, these candies are divine and i'm tempted to buy a bunch just to keep for later when they become unseasonal again

Just had the pesto pizza. It was delicious! They can do no wrong with their personal-bake pizzas, IMO, but the pesto just became my new favorite.

pesto pizza is of our lazy backup dinners

I have had a lot of pesto pizzas...

iatee, Tuesday, 30 November 2010 02:12 (fifteen years ago)

Anyone know about the brandy beans? Will they get you drunk? They look really good.

Ignore Me! (Viceroy), Tuesday, 30 November 2010 02:13 (fifteen years ago)

"is one of our"

iatee, Tuesday, 30 November 2010 02:13 (fifteen years ago)

i buy the raw pizza dough (in the refrigerator section) fairly often. i like to bake it up with a bit of olive oil brushed on for extra crispness.

When the hell will the TJ down the street ever open?? I never see workers there anymore when I walk to or from the bus. I see some signs of activity, at least - ducts and pipes get moved around - so at least I know they haven't given up. I keep delaying certain purchases until it opens.

Rumors on Yelp said they would open in January, which is clearly not possible.

cilantro/jalapeno hummus

hubertus bigend (m coleman), Monday, 17 January 2011 23:33 (fifteen years ago)

YES! The cilantro jalapeño hummus is amazing.

ENBB, Tuesday, 18 January 2011 00:00 (fifteen years ago)

That sounds great but I don't know what I would use it for. My appetite feels like it just got off the bus in Times Square in 1976.

i have a few different tj's frozen dinners i can choose from tonight:

-mac & cheese
-paneer tikka masala
-pesto tortellini
-sweet potato gnocchi
-polenta provencale

i am spoiled and i don't know what to choose!

PWN: The Paul Winfield Network (get bent), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 03:23 (fifteen years ago)

Pander tikka masala ftw

VegemiteGrrrl, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 03:24 (fifteen years ago)

Ohhh but Mac n cheese

Yep, you're screwed

VegemiteGrrrl, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 03:24 (fifteen years ago)

mac n cheese is the BEST

you know what i am really loving from tj's is the lavender dishwashing detergent

just1n3, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 03:26 (fifteen years ago)

polenta provencale is my favorite!

Stop Non-Erotic Cabaret (Abbbottt), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 03:27 (fifteen years ago)

saw a cauliflower & romanesco frozen veggie thing in a butter sauce that looked tempting but i just had the most amazing romanesco courtesy of my local farmers market the other day so why bother

buzza, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)

Have decided to drastically reduce my consumption of TJ's prepared foods. They're great but they make me feel bad and get fat.

i like their frozen (and unadulterated) flat beans (green and yellow). they're great caramelized with some onions and fennel and topped with your seafood of choice.

Romanesco look both delicious and loathesome in a trypohpia-inducing way.

trypophobia, that is

anyone buy lactaid milk at trader joe's? they used to stock the hormone free kind, I'm positive, but now I can't seem to find any.

akm, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 04:48 (fifteen years ago)

never mind I'm retarded, it's right there on the side.

right now my neighborhood trader joe's is selling off all their christmas cookies for like, 99 cents.

akm, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 04:59 (fifteen years ago)

(it is kind of disgusting there are cookies from two months ago around, but you know, when you want cookies...)

akm, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 04:59 (fifteen years ago)

Tj's is great for losing weight because everything is prepackage with nutritional information.

one month passes...

The one in Brooklyn has these "Taster's Packs" of Unibroue beers for $8 right now -- it's 4 different strong ales in the 8-9% alcohol range. Drinking a Don De Dieu right now, a belgian-style golden ale. Quite good.

The Corner Stander, The Suggest Ban Hammer (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:27 (fifteen years ago)

As beers go, I don't recommend the Vienna style lager. The knockoff Corona however is almost as good as the real thing.

calstars, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:39 (fifteen years ago)

The Trader Jose's thing? That shit is tasty!

wizards of wonder are the keepers of knowledge (Abbbottt), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:40 (fifteen years ago)

Almost as good as Corona is not high praise in my book.

The Corner Stander, The Suggest Ban Hammer (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

I do think the TJ's Dunkelweisen and Hofbrau Bock are pretty good.

The Corner Stander, The Suggest Ban Hammer (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

wait are you talking about la playa? bc that was shit.

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

but i think that is fake tecate, which is also shit.

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

no longer finding the mint chocolate UFOs or the quart of strawberry yogurt at my TJs, this is very disappointing.

currently loving the little dry pint pack of little sweet peppers. Picked up these goofy pea puff snacks today, they are like cheetos but made with peas, they are very snacky. $$ for basically air though. My 2 yo girl loves the dried seaweed snack, the other day she was no-nap delirious, naked on the kitchen floor doing the curly shuffle while cramming seaweed in her mouth, I was dying.

fuck I haven't had unibroue in a while

I hope (fer yer sake) there is at least one Fin du Monde in there, because that shit is some golden fucking ambrosia

bernard snowy, Saturday, 5 March 2011 22:01 (fifteen years ago)

Bought the Unibroue assortment a couple weeks ago and it was great. and, yeah, there's a fin du monde in there. (plus maudite, don de dieu and one I can't remember).

Definitely. Drinking it right now. Though the $2 upgrade to Trader Jose is worth it -- if you like cerveza.
