anyway, these candies are divine and i'm tempted to buy a bunch just to keep for later when they become unseasonal again

Just had the pesto pizza. It was delicious! They can do no wrong with their personal-bake pizzas, IMO, but the pesto just became my new favorite.

Anyone know about the brandy beans? Will they get you drunk? They look really good.

i buy the raw pizza dough (in the refrigerator section) fairly often. i like to bake it up with a bit of olive oil brushed on for extra crispness.

When the hell will the TJ down the street ever open?? I never see workers there anymore when I walk to or from the bus. I see some signs of activity, at least - ducts and pipes get moved around - so at least I know they haven't given up. I keep delaying certain purchases until it opens.

Rumors on Yelp said they would open in January, which is clearly not possible.

That sounds great but I don't know what I would use it for. My appetite feels like it just got off the bus in Times Square in 1976.

-sweet potato gnocchi
-polenta provencale

i am spoiled and i don't know what to choose!

saw a cauliflower & romanesco frozen veggie thing in a butter sauce that looked tempting but i just had the most amazing romanesco courtesy of my local farmers market the other day so why bother

Have decided to drastically reduce my consumption of TJ's prepared foods. They're great but they make me feel bad and get fat.

i like their frozen (and unadulterated) flat beans (green and yellow). they're great caramelized with some onions and fennel and topped with your seafood of choice.

anyone buy lactaid milk at trader joe's? they used to stock the hormone free kind, I'm positive, but now I can't seem to find any.

Tj's is great for losing weight because everything is prepackage with nutritional information.

The one in Brooklyn has these "Taster's Packs" of Unibroue beers for $8 right now -- it's 4 different strong ales in the 8-9% alcohol range. Drinking a Don De Dieu right now, a belgian-style golden ale. Quite good.

As beers go, I don't recommend the Vienna style lager. The knockoff Corona however is almost as good as the real thing.

The Trader Jose's thing? That shit is tasty!

Almost as good as Corona is not high praise in my book.

I do think the TJ's Dunkelweisen and Hofbrau Bock are pretty good.

no longer finding the mint chocolate UFOs or the quart of strawberry yogurt at my TJs, this is very disappointing.

currently loving the little dry pint pack of little sweet peppers. Picked up these goofy pea puff snacks today, they are like cheetos but made with peas, they are very snacky. $$ for basically air though. My 2 yo girl loves the dried seaweed snack, the other day she was no-nap delirious, naked on the kitchen floor doing the curly shuffle while cramming seaweed in her mouth, I was dying.

Bought the Unibroue assortment a couple weeks ago and it was great. and, yeah, there's a fin du monde in there. (plus maudite, don de dieu and one I can't remember).

Definitely. Drinking it right now. Though the $2 upgrade to Trader Jose is worth it -- if you like cerveza.
