it's hard to pin down though cos the lawyer episode (2nd this season iirc) was probably the least random and most sitcommy of them all but was still easily the worst ever.
― r|t|c, Thursday, 11 November 2010 22:10 (fifteen years ago)
all the handwringing over whether this show is good/funny right now is hilarious to me. this show is good, everyone! every episode isn't the state of the sitcom union and we don't need to reassess community's "legacy" or prospects based on whether a gimmick worked for you week to week.
― Clay, Thursday, 11 November 2010 22:14 (fifteen years ago)
I thought the lawyer episode was pretty fucking funny, esp. Drew Carey and his hand
― Baron Strange of Knockin (DJP), Thursday, 11 November 2010 22:15 (fifteen years ago)
Me too.
The chloroform gags just kept being hilarious.

this thread is always relevant:
Which is more annoying: arguing about what people find funny or arguing about what people find sexy?

As funny as Shirley and Chang's hookup was, I don't think I'd like a Baby Shirley-Chang at all.

perpetua See, this is the good kind of Community episode. The kind that isn't pandering to dumbasses.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 12 November 2010 01:30 (fifteen years ago)
this is the only show i'm excited about watching every single week

anyone got a screencap of that last scene with the pile of junk? besides the Troy and Abed in the Morning mug, I wonder if there were other things...

Perpetua OTM, I think. This might be my favorite episode ever
― Dan I., Friday, 12 November 2010 03:54 (fifteen years ago)
The point wasn't that tonight's episode wasn't good. It was that the parody/theme episodes pander to dumbasses. If that's true, then I am a proud dumbass. (He hated "Modern Warfare" ffs.)

pink balloon with jeff's face on it which i can remember being a thing i just can't remember the joke; one of shirley's WWBJD wrist bands; some keys; a fancy watch; some tin foil; a lighter; troy's student card; many gel pens in a fancy little lace wrap; troy's human being valentines present to himself signed troy; a piece of paper i cannot see what is written on it; a mariachi band hat...
― hoy orbison (a hoy hoy), Friday, 12 November 2010 07:41 (fifteen years ago)
my sister pointed out that you can just barely see Annie's Boobs lift the pen right at the start of the episode, when Troy is talking about wanting to lick the puppy.

pink balloon with jeff's face on it which i can remember being a thing i just can't remember the joke;
I think that was from this season's premiere, from the "wedding" Abed staged for Jeff and Britta. It's Jeff's and Britta's faces combined.
― Son of Sisyphus of Reaganing (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 12 November 2010 12:46 (fifteen years ago)
Did anyone else pick up on the implication that Britta and Jeff are still sleeping with each other? (I.E. The condoms and Abed noticing her use of the word "usually" in reference to his underwear.)

I just watched the space simulator through trampoline episodes on OnDemand last night and holy shit this show got funny, like beyond every reasonable expectation I had
"It's going to be a maze." lololololololol
also I love that Jeff isn't always the default star and I think ppl were short-shrifting Shirley in the Jesus movie episode.
― Baron Strange of Knockin (DJP), Friday, 12 November 2010 17:24 (fifteen years ago)
I think Troy is my favorite character on any TV show right now.

lol great ep
glad to see my stinging rebuke shamed these dudes into manning up ^_^
― r|t|c, Friday, 12 November 2010 17:30 (fifteen years ago)
I was hesitant about approaching the zombie attack episode but it was awesome. Britta's zombiefication cracked me the fuck up but the true star was the cat in the basement and their reactions to it.
― Baron Strange of Knockin (DJP), Friday, 12 November 2010 17:32 (fifteen years ago)
oh man the sofa cushion in troy's backpack... i lol'd. & pierce's callback to that was excellent too. (xxp)
yah last nite's ep was stellar

This pen episode is my favorite Community episode ever
I wasn't so amused with the zombie episode as most people were. My little sister for instance really liked the zombie one but she wasn't super impressed with this pen one - whatever

shit rewatching this episode is yielding all sorts of lines i didn't hear the first time.
abed: "if we're gonna have a pregnant woman in one of these, i say go 'elevator labor' or go home."
