Found via the "Is This Racist?" thread, the real punchline is at the end: http://www.theonion.com/articles/conde-nast-launches-the-new-yorker-for-black-peopl%2C19708/

Industry sources reported that if the magazine is a success, Condé Nast may move ahead with plans for other niche publications, including Kurdish Wired and GQ For Men.

Princess TamTam, Saturday, 21 May 2011 05:14 (fifteen years ago)

The online reaction to that has been kind of funny. I've noticed that some right-wing folks recognize that it's satire but think it's satirizing Planned Parenthood -- as in, "See, even The Onion thinks Planned Parenthood has gone too far!" Which doesn't really make sense rhetorically, but I can sort of understand how a pro-lifer might accidentally work it out that way.

jaymc, Saturday, 21 May 2011 06:23 (fifteen years ago)

Or they think that it makes fun of both sides equally, like this guy:

While I think the partial goal is to poke fun at how prolifers supposedly view Planned Parenthood, there's also a good deal that hits abortion clinics like the floor plan where a day care center promises that young children can play "while their unborn siblings are being terminated elsewhere in the facility"

Like, how is that not ALSO poking fun at how pro-lifers view Planned Parenthood?
