For some reason, I only imagine guys saying that.
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)
fuck the rest of my resume sending, i'm going to play with a couple of wiener dogs.
― chicago kevin, Friday, 21 September 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)
truth be told, the only kinds of dudes who say "do you party" are the kinds of people i would never want to be around, ESPECIALLY if they're on blow.
― chicago kevin, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:00 (eighteen years ago)

Hey bud, let's party!
― dan m, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:00 (eighteen years ago)
i mean, free cocaine is great but damn, even i have standards.
Apparently, this pic explains it all. http://static.last.fm/coverart/300x300/145604.jpg
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)
I'm with Sarah. Anyone who would ask me this is not party-date material. If being used by a woman I picture Myrtle Beach waitress who always sings 'Black Velvet' at karaoke.
― La Lechera, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)
xpost Should we ask Drew Daniel what he meant by that?
― jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:02 (eighteen years ago)
Unless you're being ironic or making reference to Andrew WK, using "party" as a verb is lame in any sentence.
― kenan, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:04 (eighteen years ago)
the arbiter has spoken
― La Lechera, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:09 (eighteen years ago)
Do it, Jamzeee.
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:09 (eighteen years ago)
the abattoir is smoking, the market is flush with ham.
― chicago kevin, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:15 (eighteen years ago)
My zit hurts.
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)
is that slang for you having a smack habit? like a "monkey on your back"?
― chicago kevin, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)
exactly. And satisfying your craving is known as "poppage."
― kenan, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:20 (eighteen years ago)
Kevin, what is that from? Or did you make it up? If so, what does it mean? I like it.
(the abattoir thing)
― Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)
kevin, good 2 have u back
― dan m, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)
happy early bday to Jeff, since I prolly won't be on line tomorrow to say it in a timely manner.
― kenan, Friday, 21 September 2007 20:58 (eighteen years ago)
A dude replied to my offer to trade my guitar for a semihollowbody! I'm going to go check it out this weekend sometime, but it would look almost exactly like the red guitar I posted near the top of the thread.
In not-as-fun news, I took the practice GRE computer test and ... I am fucked. I am way too slow at the math.
― n/a, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)
Here is me specifically not wishing happy birthday to Jeff because I think he would prefer it this way.
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:04 (eighteen years ago)
Where is an emergency place with PCs that I can go this afternoon/evening to do the rest of the practice tests? Besides my office in Evanston?
― n/a, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:05 (eighteen years ago)
Ditto to Jordan.
Nick, the practice tests are probably harder than the real thing. Don't sweat it!
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)
Nick, I was wandering around near your neighborhood once and found an internet cafe, on, I don't know Damen maybe.
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:07 (eighteen years ago)
No, the practice test is easier because some of the questions were the same as the practice questions in the book. Plus there is basically no way to practice the writing part of the GRE so I'm stressing out about that part too.
― n/a, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:07 (eighteen years ago)
The library in downtown Evanston.
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:08 (eighteen years ago)
nick, maybe you need to 'party' before the math section?
xpost
― colette, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:08 (eighteen years ago)
Bytes & Coffee at Barry and Broadway is a nice place, and you can buy something like 10 hours for $25 or 5 for $15.
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:09 (eighteen years ago)
Nick, you could go to our local library (he's at home now), but I wonder if they'd let you put a disc in...
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:09 (eighteen years ago)
OR MoJoe's on Belmont has a free laptop.
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:10 (eighteen years ago)
I don't think any library would want me putting software on their computer or using it for 1hr 15minutes. I'm wary of internet cafes but that might work I guess. I think there's one near Chicago and Damen.
― n/a, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:10 (eighteen years ago)
there's also SCREENZ at various locations.
― sweet tater, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:11 (eighteen years ago)
If you exclude internet cafes and librarys, you've pretty much talked yourself out of most examples of "an emergency place with PCs that I can go this afternoon/evening."
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:12 (eighteen years ago)
libraries
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)
Eazy, I think he's trying to narrow it down to YOUR APARTMENT!
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)
Nick, if it helps, I can walk home.
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:16 (eighteen years ago)
Christ, I just got sleeeeeeepy. I'm still here for another hour, too.
― jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:18 (eighteen years ago)
Do you pray virtually?
I will def need a nap before tonight.
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:19 (eighteen years ago)
Don't interrupt, I'm talking to Christ.
― jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:22 (eighteen years ago)
* very very quietly * What is everyone up to tomorrow night (other than Dan & sisut [not because I don't like them but because I already know they'll be seeing the national])
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:23 (eighteen years ago)
Not sure yet. I really need to pack this weekend, so I imagine I'll be doing that for much of the day, but I don't have plans for later.
― jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:26 (eighteen years ago)
Packing for what?
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:26 (eighteen years ago)
Oh yeah! The new place! DUH!
― KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:28 (eighteen years ago)
I just want everybody to know that the job offer that I got on Thursday? The one where they didn't tell me what the salary/bennies would be but still expected me to make a decision right there on the phone and I said I need until Monday? Well they still haven't told me what the salary/bennies would be.
W. T. F.
John, maybe Christ knows. Ask him for me.
― Jenny, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:30 (eighteen years ago)
Also, tomorrow is Jeff's birthday so we're going to have dinner and then probably just stay in and watch a movie. Low key celebration. Sunday we're going to the last Cubs home game of the season.
― Jenny, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:32 (eighteen years ago)
Just tell them "if I don't know what the cheddar gonna be, bitch, then how'm I supposed to know if I want the job?"
― Eazy, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:37 (eighteen years ago)
Just tell them "you wouldn't really want a labor lawyer who didn't find out about the terms before taking a job, right?"
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:38 (eighteen years ago)
lol that's almost exactly what I told her, I even said cheddar
― dan m, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:38 (eighteen years ago)
That is seriously fucked up, that alone would make me not want to take the job.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:39 (eighteen years ago)
Actually I'm pretty sure I didn't find that stuff out until after I took this job, but I was confident it would be decent and if I'd had the balls to ask they probably would have told me.
― Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 21:41 (eighteen years ago)
I sent a very nice email that said, basically, I can't make a decision if you don't tell me this information, and have received no reply.
There's no reply at all. No reply at all.
