Zombie Walk today at 3pm in Kelvingrove Park.

krakow, Sunday, 31 October 2010 09:38 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, we're going to see Olly Murs to continue our tradition of going to support our local council doing something and then getting cold and going to the pub and missing all the acts :-) We do get an X Factor reject every single year now for the lights or the fireworks or both, but presumably boat pushed out too much paying for Olly Murs to afford one for the fireworks, and they've got, somewhat ridiculously, a Paolo Nutini tribute act.

Zombie Walk!

ailsa, Sunday, 31 October 2010 18:47 (fifteen years ago)

haha, I just saw an advert for the new Sydney Devine album on the telly "available from record shops and woollen mills". Love Scotland.

ailsa, Sunday, 31 October 2010 18:57 (fifteen years ago)

Thanks! It was great fun to watch - the costumes and dedication to the cause were a pleasure to behold.

krakow, Sunday, 31 October 2010 19:20 (fifteen years ago)

yeah gd fun pics kraks, zomb in pic 2 is esp impressive

have been following w/ interest ppl's tips for places to go/sights to see.... after four years here, still feel there are huge areas of the city i know nothing abt... keep meaning to buy an all-day bus ticket one day and go roaming w a map... living in dennistoun, my default 'trip' is the cathedral/necropolis... i love the views from the top of alexandra park, too

over time, i have become v attached to the rousseau and voltaire 2nd hand bkshop down otago lane, off kelvinbridge... it is proper old skool eccentric musty bibliophillia, books stacked everywhere floor to ceiling, the stock is gd and changes all the time, prices are mostly v fair, and the hippy tea shop round the corner does a delish pot of milk oolong

Ward Fowler, Sunday, 31 October 2010 19:53 (fifteen years ago)

Excellent pictures of the zombie walk!

Madchen, Sunday, 31 October 2010 21:25 (fifteen years ago)

tachai ovna is one of the greatest things about glasgow.

jed_, Sunday, 31 October 2010 23:13 (fifteen years ago)

... if you're a hippy. :D

Madchen, Monday, 1 November 2010 12:10 (fifteen years ago)

Or if you like tea (I am not a hippy and I don't like tea. I've also never been in Tchai Ovna).

ailsa, Monday, 1 November 2010 12:12 (fifteen years ago)

you should go, it's other-worldly!

jed_, Tuesday, 2 November 2010 00:15 (fifteen years ago)

Thanks! It was rather lovely up there.

krakow, Sunday, 28 November 2010 16:38 (fifteen years ago)

Everywhere looks lovely in the snow! Even Dennistoun :-)

ailsa, Sunday, 28 November 2010 16:52 (fifteen years ago)

v nice krakow. walking home at 3am or so last night i was sad to have used all of my disposable camera photos on people sitting around doing not much. now we have about six inches over here and it's both lovely and, when huge sheets fall off of the roofs, kinda terrifying.

(also encountered the loudest and freakiest thunderstorm i'd ever heard last night. and so did all of my friends who were woken by it. <3 u mad weather.)

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:06 (fifteen years ago)

oh i didn't hear that.

jed_, Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:08 (fifteen years ago)

Me neither.

I think I'm going to try cycling to a gig in the west end tonight. The main roads look clear but wet.

krakow, Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:44 (fifteen years ago)

oh no, i'm in dundee, sorry. shamefully using the glasgow thread as a scotland-wide thread here.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:51 (fifteen years ago)

gtfo!

(joke)

rappa ternt sagna (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:55 (fifteen years ago)

:''(

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:57 (fifteen years ago)

gonna go start a dundee thread and talk to myself.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 17:58 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno, maybe some dundonian junkie will keep off selling a laptop he's burgled off someone long enough to stumble across ilx.

rappa ternt sagna (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 28 November 2010 18:10 (fifteen years ago)

just thinking about dundee has me googling mcgonagall:

Ye sons of Great Britain, I think no shame
To write in praise of brave General Graham!
Whose name will be handed down to posterity without any stigma,
Because, at the battle of El-Teb, he defeated Osman Digna.

rappa ternt sagna (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 28 November 2010 18:13 (fifteen years ago)

Wow, look at the Park! Which bit was that pic taken, over on the golf course?

Madchen, Sunday, 28 November 2010 21:47 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, over the far side, but at the top of the hill. It was completely untouched over there. I went tramping across acres of totally virgin snow on the golf course, even at midday. Awesome!

krakow, Sunday, 28 November 2010 23:12 (fifteen years ago)

i can't compete w krakow, but glasgow green was beautiful and wintry today:

Ward Fowler, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 19:57 (fifteen years ago)

The sunset this afternoon was stupendous. I was cycling back from Coatbridge to the East End and had to pull over to watch it across the snow-covered fields and misty tenements in all its blazing red and orange glory. Wonderful.

krakow, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:00 (fifteen years ago)

I'm in Glasgow next week, hopefully. Looking forward to some wintry scenes!

Neil S, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:07 (fifteen years ago)

ailsa, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:37 (fifteen years ago)

Oh wow. Where is that ailsa?

krakow, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:39 (fifteen years ago)

Renfrew, just across the river from the airport, looking over towards Inchinnan.

ailsa, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:42 (fifteen years ago)

Note to stalkers: it's not RIGHT outside my house.

ailsa, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:43 (fifteen years ago)

*takes notes*

jed_, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:49 (fifteen years ago)

(that's not right as in not directly. Not not right as in left, necessarily. I just realised when I said it was out the back of my house, that you might think that my back garden looked like that. It doesn't).

ailsa, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 22:59 (fifteen years ago)

great pic ailsa!

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 15 December 2010 06:54 (fifteen years ago)

That's probably the nicest any part of Renfrewshire has ever looked, congratulations ailsa!

o0o00h really? (boxedjoy), Wednesday, 15 December 2010 10:25 (fifteen years ago)

486.52 (CaptainLorax), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 06:45 (fifteen years ago)

christmas gift-buying related question - does anyone know if the guitar shop by mono still sells those ~£15 ukuleles?

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 11:17 (fifteen years ago)

I believe they are £20 now, but other than that yes.

The shop is called 'Strung Out' and this is their website, so you could phone and check what they have in... http://www.strungoutguitars.com/

krakow, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:25 (fifteen years ago)

excellent, thank you.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:40 (fifteen years ago)

No problem. Best of luck.

krakow, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 15:20 (fifteen years ago)
