Made banana bread. Reading Keef's new book. Wooooo.

how did the bread come out?

i went to a huge sound/light installation of a xenakis piece, in a state park in downtown l.a.

the "light" part = laserbeams and flaming torches.

okay, more like roaming search lights and flaming torches -- but a company called "laserium" was in charge of them.

xposts haven't tried the banana bread yet, will report back when I do. Smells freaking great tho

Doing a lot of cooking to use up some CSA stuff. Did a roasted garlic/eggplant/leek mix for dinner along with a chard/broccoli salad, made up a batch of tomato sauce with basil, then a white bean/kale/kabocha big batch of soup and a spicy butternut squash stew is currently cooking up. Sauce, stew and soup all for storage (seriously).

still sick so had a pretty tame sat evening, watched ireland lose to south africa in rugby with a mate, then got a really great red curry at the thai restaurant on my street, then came in and went to bed. thinking about going off alcohol for the month of november, since i've been sick for the first 7 days, i'm unemployed, and it might save liver for christmas.

nb: exception being made if and when i get a job, in which case i am going on one huge session.

hey y'all -- it's 4:52 PM, I've only been up since sometime after 2 PM, and it's already dark out

word, got up at 3:45. heard it was pretty nice though. gotta get on the winter hour schedule

Today is gumbo day! Also I will fold towels and catch up on dvrs. Breaking news: Mr Veg has been illin' all week, just found out he has pneumonia :(

i been out all day, avoiding house due to dodgy alcoholic scrounger perhaps knocking on my door at some point. home now, coffe, pasta salad, tv, mmmm nice.

getting kids ready for bed. then planning to cook up this butternut squash. have ambitions to do some writing later, but we'll see.

had to work late + spent an hour trying to get a taxi to haul a ton of gigantic boxes on a saturday night.

watching streaming football w/ the sound off. the girl sick+sleeping in bed next to me.

Upside to Mr Veg's pneumonia: prescription codeine cough syrup. W00t! Good thing though, poor guy hasn't had a full night's sleep for days.

In other news, gumbo is being gumboed as we speak. 2 more hours of simmering til launch. Is this what slow food is?

Today was alright. I'm working through the weekends right now, relaxation was going for a run and putting together the scoring script for the 20th century poll, dinner was last night's lentils reheated.

can't open the whiskey until i've picked up my brother from work, but log fire on and football recorded for when we get the green light in about 30 mins.

Just watched "Surrogates" on my newfangled Netflix Instant.

There have got to be better ways to use this free trial.

Evening plans include chili, BSG, and a book recommended by a hoos.

Wish I had a fireplace. I'll light some candles, maybe?
