And what an improvement. Safari doesn't crash every 20 seconds anymore.

Other than offline browsing, is there a good reason to use Byline rather than the iPhone optimized version of google reader?

Melodis Dialer is AWESOME.

It's a voice dialer and by far the best I've used. I can talk pretty fast, the recognition is nearly instant, and it has been 99% accurate for me.

Melodis is SWEET! Any idea why it is free?

schwantz, Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:16 (seventeen years ago)

its better than "say who" which used the network to search your phonebook for some reason

there's a new Public Radio app that has streams for over a hundred Public Radio streams. only problem is that it wont play when phone goes to sleep/locked. i had two other NPR apps (to specific stations) that had this same problem but both fixed it in a recent update, so hopefully this one will too.

is there a financial app that is so simple it is the equivalent of the "write down every little thing you spend money on in a little notebook you carry around with you" exercise?

i dont know if we discussed this yet but i figured out why you get "youtube not available" when you click on youtube links on ILX

instead of a youtube window you see a youtube url, but the way ilx code works it doesnt really take you to the url, it takes you to a long-ass url like this: http://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?swf=http%3A//s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/cps-vfl68942.swf&video_id=N0gb9v4LI4o&rel=1&showsearch=1&eurl=http%3A//www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet%3Fboardid%3D63%26threadid%3D1202&iurl=http%3A//i3.ytimg.com/vi/N0gb9v4LI4o/hqdefault.jpg&sk=jYIlr6KmmQWXxhsWfFL_UBitGpvL6xbxC&use_get_video_info=1&load_modules=1&hl=en

new update to itunes and the remote app is pretty awesome. you run "itunes dj" (new name for party shuffle) and guests can use remote on their iphones to request tracks - the most popular move to to the top of the playlist. way better than just one nerd monopolising the music imo.

what VoIP app do you guys use? Truphone and Fring are often mentionned - which one do you recommend?

baaderonixx, Monday, 16 March 2009 08:39 (seventeen years ago)

trying to wrap my head around why jott is considered a useful app. i mean, OK, i can jott notes to myself. but w/o copy and paste i can't jott them into anything useful on the iphone, like omnifocus or notes or email. i can basically just use it to jott stuff down that i can access when i get to my computer and then sort from there? why not just use a simple voice recorder?

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 16 March 2009 08:55 (seventeen years ago)

truphone works for me

i think you can get jott to email your jotts to you?

s1ocki, Monday, 16 March 2009 12:56 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but w/o c+p i can't get them from mail to another app.

i mean, sure i can go home and use jott express on my desktop to sort things into different apps but that just adds work!.

We get copy/paste tomorrow!
