carles in carge (s1ocki), Friday, 15 October 2010 05:04 (fifteen years ago)

it was worth it alone for when abed comes back to find the ship gone.

O holy ruler of ILF (a hoy hoy), Friday, 15 October 2010 13:57 (fifteen years ago)

thought that was brilliant

definatelypoopsmcgee (chrisv2010), Friday, 15 October 2010 14:13 (fifteen years ago)

I've never seen Apollo 13 but The Right Stuff is one my all time faves and the opening sequence was awesome.

^^^^^^ watched the opening several times before moving on.

Stockhausen's Helicopter Quartet (Elvis Telecom), Saturday, 16 October 2010 06:31 (fifteen years ago)

would've been better if they got Goldblum and Shearer to do it!

dan selzer, Saturday, 16 October 2010 13:09 (fifteen years ago)

nah imo half the fun of these episodes is seeing how much the cast gets into it and wink wink nudge nudge cameos wouldn't add anything -- don't need to see Ray Liotta or whoever popping up in line for chicken fingers

underrated bobos I have honked (some dude), Saturday, 16 October 2010 13:23 (fifteen years ago)

this show is just hitting that perfect "hanging with your hilarious loveable tv friends" sweet spot... à la season 2 us office, cheers, early 30 rock... LOVE it!

faust LARP (s1ocki), Saturday, 16 October 2010 16:02 (fifteen years ago)

This episode was not an Apollo 13 reference... obviously no one has seen Space Camp.

sofatruck, Saturday, 16 October 2010 16:16 (fifteen years ago)

i got that!!

faust LARP (s1ocki), Saturday, 16 October 2010 16:20 (fifteen years ago)

eleven herbs and space experience

this show is so good

am0n, Sunday, 17 October 2010 23:46 (fifteen years ago)

Uh, it was a reference to quite a few movies, including Apollo 13. I mean, the whole Abed thing was a pretty explicit reference to Gary Sinise's character.

Anyone know the techno bit playing with during the Pop-n-lockathon a few episodes back? With the whistling? It's been bugging me all day.

Did a brief search but my endurance flags after the first page or so.

what a peculiar episode so far...

JIMMY MOD THE SACK MASTER (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 22 October 2010 00:09 (fifteen years ago)

I don't even believe in God, but I love me some Abed.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 October 2010 00:09 (fifteen years ago)

Shirley is especially great tonight.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 October 2010 00:19 (fifteen years ago)

Autotune God of Faaaarts!

Dan I., Friday, 22 October 2010 01:57 (fifteen years ago)

Sadly a subpar episode, but still funnier than almost any other show on network TV right now.

"I am a fairly respected poster." (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 22 October 2010 03:39 (fifteen years ago)

i want to see more yvette nicole brown episodes (she feels a bit underused) but yeah this was just ok. the abed meta joke... joke... was ehh

Nhex, Friday, 22 October 2010 03:47 (fifteen years ago)

I really liked this one.

That is the stench of tyranny (VegemiteGrrrl), Friday, 22 October 2010 05:19 (fifteen years ago)

I did too. I don't think they all have to be hilarious.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 October 2010 05:22 (fifteen years ago)

I enjoyed the Pierce-as-a-teenager sub story, but the Abed/Jesus/meta thing was really interesting to me. I thought it was pretty smart!

That is the stench of tyranny (VegemiteGrrrl), Friday, 22 October 2010 05:28 (fifteen years ago)

'hey, bitch, why don't you go back to your temple?'

j., Friday, 22 October 2010 06:35 (fifteen years ago)

The story was v. interesting but yeah, also not as funny as it could have been. The end all made it worth it though, like Jeff getting Britta added as the emergancy contact and the dressing up as Jeff thing.

O holy ruler of ILF (a hoy hoy), Friday, 22 October 2010 07:09 (fifteen years ago)

i know abed's jesus getup was going for romance-novel stud, but i'm convinced there was a little tommy wiseau mixed up in there too.

christ a Journey medley (reddening), Friday, 22 October 2010 07:29 (fifteen years ago)

weird episode

max, Friday, 22 October 2010 07:33 (fifteen years ago)

but no way it was going to be as good as kfc space

max, Friday, 22 October 2010 07:33 (fifteen years ago)

"That sounds... very appealing to filmmakers" was sterling though.

All the filmmakers are Jesus and all their cameras are God (CONGO, M.D.), Friday, 22 October 2010 12:26 (fifteen years ago)

I turned it on halfway through the episode and for about 5 minutes I thought he was being Michael Jackson.

franny glass, Friday, 22 October 2010 13:03 (fifteen years ago)

Aww, somebody made a Shirley tribute video and Yvette linked to it on twitter (it's actually pretty good)

O holy ruler of ILF (a hoy hoy), Friday, 22 October 2010 17:30 (fifteen years ago)

This reminded me of the God episode of Louie, and not just because of the subject matter. It wasn't funny ha-ha all the time but I really liked a lot of the ideas in it.

Abed also channeling Criss Angel a bit.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Friday, 22 October 2010 23:28 (fifteen years ago)

Hm, I thought this was great actually, one of their most original, cleverest episodes.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 22 October 2010 23:43 (fifteen years ago)

Then, I thought the ep with Jeff's lawyer friend was really weak, relatively.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 22 October 2010 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

loved the rap - 'tables made of pies'

just sayin, Saturday, 23 October 2010 09:33 (fifteen years ago)

O holy ruler of ILF (a hoy hoy), Saturday, 23 October 2010 13:58 (fifteen years ago)

The "ABED" song was a nice touch.
